Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me any references to any deities or patrons of the visual arts. I understand that Benzaiten and Sarasvati are often looked to for inspiration, but I attribute them more with the musical arts. Are there any patrons of just creativity out there, or of the visual arts? I'm in need of inspiration! Any advice or information would be very appreciated - thank you!

well Xochiquetzal is the aztec patron of Potters and artists
He'eaka is the Hawaiian Goddess of Hula
Athena is Goddess of weaving
Hephaestus is God of smithing, which would probably include any artwork where is metal is a medium
Apollo is a God Arts also, and I believe there is Muse who reins over acting

Saraswati is the goddess of all arts. Learning too.
Not just musical. Writing, learning, poetry, etc are all under her realm.
She inspired the Vedas, those are poetic. As well as many more things.
Visual arts are attributed to her as well.
You don't need a specific deity to insire you in my opinion. All of them are inspirational to art and writing in their own way. I've written countless poems about all kinds of deities. And painted many things inspired by many others. For example Ushas (labeled as a "dawn goddess") I painted a pretty sunrise inspired by her. Stuff like that. Perhaps look though some myths and see if any spark some creativity. They can do that without being the "deity of visual arts and creativity" ;) I'm not even theistic and I find inspiration in them, the myths and all of that. Nature is helpful too. Lots of inspiration there.
Good luck!

While I can't think of a god of just the visual arts, gods who would be good for creative types in general would be Brighid, Lugh, and Ogma.

The Muses are my patron goddesses of creativity. They range from science to the arts. (That includes painting yo).
