I am so PO'd. The feed store I go to knows I raise animals for food. They know I am organic. They know me!!!
Yet when I bought my game bird and lamb feed this week, the fools gave me medicated feed!!! Its not marked on the bag, its on the tag. I f I didnt read the tag, I would be giving this garbage to my animals!!!
And what makes it worse is the store knows I have ducks with the guineas and this feed is toxic to my ducks.
The lamb feed, they know at the store I have a mini horse with the goats and lamb and this lamb feed is toxic to the horse!

Its a feed store for livestock feed. They no how important it is to be sure you have all the correct feeds for the animals you have and the way they are set up.

Plus Organic feed isnt organic if its medicated!!! That really makes me mad...passing this garbage off as organic!!

I hope I can get my money back or I just through 25 bucks down the toilet. Not to mention my birds are out of feed!!!

Now I have to see if I can find organic feed for the birds locally and thats a long shot. I cant get to the store I bought this non-organic garbage at because its to far for me to drive and my SO isnt off of work till Monday. I am so mad.

I hope I can find a new supplier because I cant trust the store I was dealing with. A mistake like this...no room for this type of mistake.

Dam I am just really mad.

Well we found feed for the birds locally.
But no lamb feed. Everyone only has medicated lamb feed!

I guess the search goes on.

ohhhhhhhh, that stinks. :(

Glad you found some bird food the birds can eat. Good luck on finding the other food. I dunno how plausable it would be...but what about looking online?

I know how it feels go try to find a certain kind of food. I've had to do that for my dogs because the brands I feed you cant find at just any place around here.

I feel your frustration. :hugz: Good luck in your search!

The shipping cost alone would be totally insane.
I buy a total of 250-500 pounds of feed per month, depending on the season. The most is bought in winter because the pasture is under snow.

I need a regular supplier I can count on.

I was really worried about them cause they are just a few weeks old.
The Lamb is just eating pasture waiting for her grain.
I wish I could give her the goat feed but it has copper in it, needed for goats to be healthy, and that cant be fed to the lamb. Sheep have a low copper tolerance.

That is a lot of feed. I am glad you discovered the stores mistake before your critters were harmed. Organic means Organic. You are completely right. I hope it works out for you. The feed store ought to bend over backwards not to lose a customer like you.

Is there a store that can order it in for you? I mean, if you said, for instance, "Hey, I buy a s--t load of feed every month, and if you order such-and-such brand in for me, I'll shop here exclusively for it."

I haven't found one yet. There is so much business for regular non-organic feeds and a willingness for the medicated that they don't need special business from one single person.

If I bought it by the ton, then I could special order right from the mill.
But I cant store that much at a time, or I would do that.

If I cant find my sheep feed, I'll buy individual bags of organic grain and mix my own. That looks like what I will end up doing.
In the long run, that will probably be best anyhow cause then I can mix grain for all the different critters individual needs around here.Pklus it is cheaper in the long run too.
It will just take cash up front to buy many bags of assorted grains at once and the organization to do the mixing and bagging myself.
Once I have the grain I can buy more according to what is getting low.
Some grains you go through faster than others.
Once I have a mixing and bagging system worked out the time to get it done shouldn't be bad either.

So who knows, this could of happened for the good over all as I have to go about my feeding in a different way. :)
