Does anyone here know anyone who has ever had a breast reduction surgery? I am actually contemplating it....I have been for a while. I've been reading about the procedure, and what can happen as a result...and....would love to talk to anyone who might know more about it.
Thanks:)

My cousin did it, two other friends and myself have looked into it and considered it. Not sure I can tell you anything you haven't found already on the web and stuff :)

A friend of mine in college had it done. She was eternally grateful for it. She had been suffering such horrible backaches and such, that it wasn't worth lugging *Them* around anymore. So she had them reduced. The recovery was long, and arduous (and painful), but in the long run, she was so happy she had it done.

its funny how some ppl want them enlarged while others want them reduced, if only we could just swop over with each other....

Actually, I had it done, myself. My 5 year anniversary was April 17.
My main reason for getting it done was because I had chronic headaches (because my neck muscles were always tense from having to support "them"). So, I had a consultation with a doctor (plastic surgeon), and we deemed that it was medically necessary (so my insurance covered it), and I had it done.
I went from a 38DD to a 38C (which was perfect for my body size and build). They actually took out around 5lbs.
I am very glad I did it....felt great immediately (after healing of course....before healing it hurt like you wouldn't believe, not to dissuade you or anything.) The only thing I worry about is not being able to breast feed when I have children....and I do have scars, but I barely notice them anymore.
Anything else in particular that you want to know about?

One of the big setbacks for me was that one might not be able to breastfeed after.

And it's a rather large % of posibility..... if I remember correctly there's a 25% chance that a person won't be able to breast feed afterward....that may have changed in 5 years....and I may be remembering wrong, but, still.....

So true...I would gladly donate some if it was possible!
Amethyst...if you don't mind...can I talk more with you about this over the phone? (check your pm's)
I really want to have it done...I am just hoping my insurance will cover it!
Thank You all for your replies...I am definately going to look in to this some more....:)

my ex sister in law had it done quite some years ago (she had five pounds removed from each breast!). She was so much happier after having it done. Backaches and headaches were gone and she able to wear average size clothing for the first time in her life. She never had any complications.
Just some things to consider: Find a qualified surgeon if you decide to have it done. Make an appointment and find out exactly what the procedure entails, recovery time, what to expect, ect.
My daughter has also considered it but she has lost a lot of what she originally had after having three children. I myself have checked into breast enhancement surgery, but still am not 100% sure about it.
well, thanks for letting me babble ... Good luck in your decision!
