(pronounced tohn-a-tee-oo)
In Aztec mythology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztec_mythology), Tonatiuh (Nahuatl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nahuatl_language): Ollin Tonatiuh "Movement of the Sun") was the sun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun) god. The Aztec (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztec) people considered him the leader of Tollan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tollan), their heaven (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven). He was also known as the fifth sun, because the Aztecs believed that he was the sun that took over when the fourth sun was expelled from the sky. According to their cosmology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmology), each sun was a god with its own cosmic era. According to the Aztecs, they were still in Tonatiuh's era.

As with Itzpapalotl, the information widely available is limited and repetitive. (This tends to happen with a lot of Mesoamerican deities)
