Mine is a hot bath, with or without bubbles and herbs and having the house quiet, no interruptions. Ahhhh

Now your talking my language, boy do I love luxury, in any shape or form, I just wish I had the money to indulge in it! Still, for the simpler pleasures in life, they have to be:-

A lovely warm bath, scented with oils, according to my mood. Accompanied by soft music, and some candles - mmmm.

My electric blanket. Indispensible, as I'm generally always colder than anyone else, and have my mate Arthur Itis to keep me company, so a centrally heated bed is absolute bliss!

Toasting my toes in front of my open fire.

A quiet warm house!

(Anyone noticing a theme here!!) :bigredgri

My luxury would be a big comfy leather chair, a glass of good white wine and a book to get into with no clocks or phones to interupt

but if money were no object it would be a one way flight to New Mexico today!!!!

A hot bubble bath (Ombra lavender or Kiss My Face Peaceful Patchouli are nice), a hot cuppa herb tea, and a good book or a cheesy movie with a BIG bowl of buttery popcorn. And when my honey gives me one of his KILLER back rubs... aaaahh!!

My luxury would be quite time---when everyone has gone to bed. I light every candle I can find, curl up on the couch with my kitty and lots of velvet pillows, sip a hot cup of Calming Tea, pop in a Fairy of the Woods cd by Gary Stadler and ever so slowly leaf through the pages of my favorite books, magazines and catalogs.

Let me add something. I know this sounds a bit selfish for some strange reason, but somedays breathing is a luxury.

One sunny summer day, I decided to give myself a "special day". I took the day off from work & sent my son off to my mom's, hubby went off to work. I decided to give myself an oatmeal facial. For all you guys who don't know what I'm talking about...it looks like someone threw up porridge all over your face. Anyway, I packed this stuff on my face & decided to give myself a hot oil & henna treatment for my hair as well. I had made so much of the oatmeal that I decided to do my elbows & feet & knees. Because of the mess, I did all this outside in my back yard. So here I am, lying on a towel on the grass with oil & henna in my long hair, sticking out all over the place. Most of me is covered with oat meal. Soft music playing from the house. Cold lemonade with a straw. I'm thinking...ahhh! Peace & quiet. Suddenly, I hear someone says "excuse me". I jumped up & screamed. The mailman screamed. When he got a good look at me, he screamed even louder. You should have seen his face! He had a package he wanted me to sign for & came around the back. Heheh! I'm sure he's still telling this story at the post office.

The most luxurious thing to me is gaze at the stars, planets, and other galaxies while lying on cool, soft grass on a warm summer night with a soft breeze in the air.

And cuddling with my three cats on a cold winter morning under my Ralph Lauren Egyptian Cotton sheets and comforter. Cause some luxuries can be bought, but most can not.

My favorite time is at night when everyone has gone to sleep so no one will bother me. I light my altar candles, put some music on and drink a cold glass of wine. I think I must be a lunatic becuse I can't handle a bath. I only take showers...something about lying on a hard cold surface with no clothes on....yuk... Yeh, I'm weird!

I don't like taking baths because I don't think it is very comfortable. If they made padded bathtubs where I could practically fall asleep in I would probably take baths a whole heck of alot more. I love just snuggling under the blankets and reading a good book. Have some nice soft music going, maybe some candles and a little incense.... And gotta have the cat snuggling with me. <grin>

Naaah. The kind of luxury I'm talking about is the selfish kind. :D I agree, Blue. To me (other than my bath), the ultimate luxury in life would be to have one day (that's all I'm asking!) without any pain.

bluecat and mairwen, thanks for showing me that i have reason to appreciate the time between my occasional migranes. those are, at least, not constant, and my sympathy to you both.

Thanks, Friend.

I just thought of a luxury that is near an addiction for me.

Thanks sweetie! I have a birth defect in my back, a nerve injury ~ and hereditary arthritis to boot. (sigh) Humid days like today wipe me out.

I only like taking baths when they are hot and DEEP! I grew up with a very deep bath at our house, so I had them a lot growing up. When I moved out of home I only had a shower in my apartment, so I dragged my speakers into the bathroom and played Savage Garden really loud while I took long hot showers, but it was never the same. NOW I have a claw foot tub which is ok if I block the "safety drain" up with a rag LOL

Chocolate is my second luxury - though it's hard to get Cadbury's in America *pout* which is IMHO the best chocolate in the whole world. haha

Sitting in front of my altar with candles burning is another favourite, or just lying in bed and not having to be anywhere, is also wonderful.

And I LOVE to go shopping, so my ultimate luxury is having a large amount of cash and a shopping centre to spend it at!!! hehe

Bright Blessings,
Lilu

Hmmm... I'd have to start with a day that's pain free (and no kids would be nice). I'd probably move on to a blustery fall day where the leaves are multi-colored and being tossed around in the wind. Rain would be coming down steadily but not hard. I'd have a nice fire in the fireplace. Candles would occasionally dot the furniture around the room. On my couch I'd have my big fuzzy comforter. The table next to the couch would have my favorite book and a nice cup of my favorite coffee (and maybe a reading lamp). There'd be faint music playing (whatever suits my mood at the time). After a warm oil and herb bath, I'd snuggle in for a nice day of come-what-may. <sigh> Maybe if I found someone, they could share it with me.

Dreamily,
Dria El

My luxury is a nice summer day with everyone either at camp or work and I can float around in the pool. :)
