Yesterday, my husband tells me packing should only take an hour or so. Hello? 4 of us for 8 days, in an hour? Plus get the house ready for our friends who are house/dog sitting? What planet is he from? Now he calls and tells me we have to find a way to get the work van back down to work tomorrow which is an hour and a half one way. And then pick it up the day we come after we get back from Disney, which happens to be Mother's Day. Oh and there is lots more but I am too aggravated to type!
And he has band practice tonight and is no help.
ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:end of rant

You're right his estimation seems a bit off. I mean seriously that stuff should really only take about a half hour...

Bah! It will take him at least an hour to *find* the suitcases in the attic.
But thanks for the laugh, I needed that!

Ain't that the truth!
We are leaving for Disney at 6:30 am Sat. Tomorrow is hubby's b-day too. And I have PTA sh** to do at the last minute, plus steam clean the cat puke stains so my friends aren't grossed out when they move in for the week..... Already cleaned out the fridge of the stuff that *I* Knew was yucky, but they would not. :p
**edited to add**
Just so you don't think I am gross, the cat puke stains were already cleaned and scrubbed and deodorized. The food Ziggy has to eat (Prescription Diet cd-o) stains so bad the only way you can get it out is by steam cleaner...which I am off to do now.... :D

Ack! Thanks for reminding me! I'm in Charleston most of next week - must make kennel reservations and call the cat sitter. . .
Pack in an hour. Well yeah, if your notion of packing is throwing whatever's clean into a suitcase and hoping it matches. it's just a guy thing, but it's fun to watch them reealize that it can't quite be done that way.
Reminds me of my Dad, who was in the Air Force when I was growing up, so the options were: uniform, jeans, civilian dress. Period. Now, in his business days, it's interesting to see him have become a middle aged packing diva - golf clothes, boating clothes, casual dinner clothes, etc. My Mom thinks it's hilarious.

Insane. Absolutely insane.
I have to admit; my ex was very good with packing. However, it was taking care of the rest of the house that he didn't understand. I don't even think he REALIZED that I emptied the fridge, brought out the trash, etc. every time we went away!
I hope you have a great trip. Just knock him on the bum and smile sweetly at him. All will be well! ;)

Men...*Garnet shakes her head*
I once went camping over a four day weekend with a guy who took more clothing than I take for three weeks in Europe. Honestly, this guy had enough to change 2 or 3 times a day (& he did). It took longer for him to gather up his clothes than it did for us to dismantle the tent & stow it & the rest of the gear in the truck.
When your husband said that packing should only take an hour, I assume he meant that packing should only take you an hour.
Have a great trip, sweetie, & pity us who won't be able to get away.

I could actually do it provided no one gets in my way and we all know the odds of that with a husband and 4 kids is slim to none! Good luck and have fun!
PS want to come do my carpets too ;)
