Firstly, consider this in terms of your own ethical principles. A reversal is primarily an offensive, not defensive technique. If someone physically attacks them, and I redirect their energy so that they break their own arm, I can claim it defensive, but it still results in a broken arm, whereas I could have slipped them into a submission technique, waited for them to calm down, and only apply more force as necessary to control the situation. Again, I'm not advocating one way or the other; I simply think that these sorts of things should be called what they are, attacks, not defenses. If you can redirect, you can ground, period.
I like witch's bottles. Take a glass bottle (I usually use an old Snapple bottle) though plastic will work if you want to be sure it won't break (not that this has ever happened to me...twice), fill it full of broken glass (wrap another Snapple bottle in an old towel, apply hammer as needed), nails, pins, needles, really anything sharp and pointy, and add a drop of blood. Place on a window, a fireplace, or bury under a door.

Why waste perfectly good energy? Cleanse it and use it as you will :) No fuss no muss.

Some Buddhist stuff I picked up from a friend.
A mantra that clears a "place" of evil is the Mantra from the Heart
Sutra....
"Tayatha Om Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha"
A mantra that destroys evil wishes at the source is the Shurangama
Sutra Mantra....
"Syi Dan Dwo Bwo Da La"
Also a Bagua. Chinese mirrors sold as Feng Shui decorative items these days. You can get them concave or convex (this just means the side facing you). The convex side deflects all manner of evil Chi. Then ones that have the conave facing you are safe to hang inside. Minimum one on each wall of a room.
People will tell you NEVER to hang them inside but that's because there mostly soled with the convex side facing out. Also you can find them rather cheap.
