Last year we visited the Enchantments shop. If you want to take the train there's shops in Brooklyn, Hicksville, the Bronx, 2 in Manhattan (listed as New York), some on Staten Island. Google is your friend!

Enchantments is on 9th street between 1 and 2 avenues. A great herb store, Angelica, is on the corner of 9th and 1st avenue. Aphrodesia, another herb and oil store, is nearby at 246 Bleeker. Morgana's Chamber is at 246 west 10th street, I've liked them the few times I have been in. Other Worldly Waxes I am less fond of, they are at 131 east 7th street. The store that used to be Original Products is, I believe, still out there in the Bronx on Webster Avenue. However I can't recall it's current name. There used to be on on the upper west side as well, in the west 70s I think, but you'd never find it without an address, and it may be long gone.

Do a google for New Moon New York, it's a pagan organization they will doubtless have more up to date info for you than I can provide. They run a Yahoo group and put on periodic events.

I know there is one shop up by 80th st near central park, they have candles, books, jewlrey, supplies, etc....

there was one store in the village "the magical childe" but they closed years ago...

there is one store in Hicksville (www.crescentmoongoddess.com) but you have to make an appointment ahead of time to browse because it is mostly an online store but they do open it to the public...

I found a few shops, they are all pretty easy to get to, sometimes you can ask the people at the shop if they know of other shops in the area, most pagan shop owners are very good with helping out each other like that... they will gladly give you info on other stores..

I'd say the bronx is more dangerous for a white girl. :D But I have trouble walking around southern queens. Speaking of, does anyone know of any shops in Queens? There was one in Forest Hills, called Pastimes, that closed, and I don't know of any others.

Also, there is Stick, Stone and Bones in Manhattan on Christopher St , cross streets between Bleecker and Bedford. You can get everything from stones, sage, incense, ornaments and tools. A small shop very easy to miss but, if this helps it is on the north side of the street. Keep and eye out for it. There is very nice tea shop a few doors down from Stick, Stone and Bones.

Yeah, I like Stick, Stone and Bone's products, but I always found them a little off, energy-wise. I had no idea they were still around, though. Cool!

I wouldn't worry about that part of the Bronx. Just go in the daytime and be sensible.

Try this site (http://www.yellow.com/) to help you get there just type in the store's address.

Edit:

I tried it to see if the store pops up and here is it's profile (http://yellowpages.superpages.com/profile~SRC_comwp~N_Original+Products~T_Bronx~S_NY~STYPE_S~L_Bronx+NY~R_N~CID_525910~LID_Mv7bZKXjY61 VRuTG5jje9A%3D%3D~lbp_1.htm) click driving directions to help you to get there.

Yeah, I hear you . I always re-energize my stones when I buy from them. But, the owners are very nice so that makes up some of the energy lost. It's when you have so many people in that little store during the weekend and everyone is touching every object. I am sure they do some spiritual cleansing after the weekend.

I live in manhattan, same low on cash but always willing to do window shopping :) I need some time just got back from a long vacation. But, PM when you want to head to Sticks, Stones and Bones in the future.

Edit: Thought of a great idea ! We should get a NY resident Metaphysical Shopping Field Trip going on. Though if you are not from the NY or NY metro area you are more than welcome to attend. We can get a list of people together who would like to do this and we can set up a meeting place. Just thought of throwing the idea out there ;) So what do you guys think?

I would be REALLY interested in a "Pagan field trip." I live in NJ, work in Manhattan, will be moving to the city early next year; so a field trip would be great, even if we don't purchase anything, there's nothing wrong with window shopping and comparing prices. ;)
Alot of the stores mentioned in the thread are now closed! There has got to be a site that has a more updated list, I've been looking BUT unable to find anything up to date!
So what do the NYCers/NJers/CTers think about this?
BTW...September 29th. there's gonna be a Pagan Pride Day Harvest Celebration and Food Drive in Battery Park from 11a.m. - 5p.m.. ;)

Namaste.
xoxoxo.
