But I don't care for chocolate. I consume very little of that delectable to other people stuff, in a calendar year.
I am more of a red licorise, ju-jubes kind of gal. I don't eat alot of that either though.
Living with 3 sweet tooths in this house, nothing ever lasts long.
I can buy myself a treat and nibble and savour it for months. However, the bloodhounds I live with(my dh and 2 wonderful kids)can sense it from a mile away. It disappears, poof! like it never even existed.
They tell me:
"that's magick mama!"

Who do they think they're foolin'???

LOL

Being a woman, I feel qualified to field this one, Adrian. Chocolate contains an enzyme that, when combined with the female hormones, gives one the feeling of being in love. During PMS everything goes haywire in the hormone dept, and chocolate becomes an intense craving.

I can relate to the intense chocolate cravings during my moon cycle. There's a day or two a month when all I want are the four major food groups - chocolate, salt, fat, and sugar. Someday I will try chocolate covered potato chips - my partner said he'd call them 'Bitchaway' chips. By the way - can anyone tell me what LOL means ???

Maybe i should give my wife massive amounts of chocolate!!!

Gunner, according to the girls in ROTC over here, they've got cardboard imitation, imitation chocolate. It works good for firestarter... well sort of. :D

Aside from that, give me my gummi bears and I'm happy. :D

Actually, I thought it was a feeling of euphoria. And, it puts men to sleep (and boys, thank the Gods!)

It puts me to sleep after the Euphoric feeling it elicits. I can't think of a better chaser than a good nap.

Actually, the best part is no man needed. It's just a little of the giddy feelings and dreaminess - sans man. Maybe it's even feeling like you're in love with the chocolate. If you want your wife to be happy, give her chocolate. If you want her to be more in love with you, give her a little ginger root and a beautiful rose.

Well, no one said chocolate was perfect (damn close, though). Communication is a wonderful thing, however, there are those certain days when the only sound one wants to hear is the tearing of the foil wrapper. ;) And it can't leave the toilet seat up.

Yup, but it's not quite the same as the old "John Wayne Bars" ... it's edibility is as questionable as ever though.

I hate to sound so insensitive, even though I am pretty insensitive, but better picking chocolate plants in the warm rainforest canopy than chained to a sewing machine working for DKNY.

Xois - I agree with your feelings about NPR - sometimes a little knowledge is a little too much. Child labor is a horrific reality in most of the world (and even here in the USA). On NPR once I heard a Filipina woman who had lived her whole life on the huge garbage dump in Manila, scavanging for food and clothing and items to sell or barter. Her only wish for her child was that he could get a coveted job in a sweatshop and move out of the garbage dump and into a slum...I try to buy organic foods whenever possible, it can be more expensive but the price reflects the grower's efforts to eliminate toxins from our environment. In the case of coffee, it seems that some organic foods wholesalers are a bit more concerned about the welfare of their growers and will pay more than the giant multinational corporations do as an incentive for farmers to give up the chemicals. The higher prices paid to farmers may give them enough income that they can send their children to school. On another note - I tried to listen to your web radio site but it didn't work - I'll try again. Namaste.....
