Do You Live In Georgia???

As some of you may know, I'm going into the Army. I'll be leaving for bootcamp the 13 to South Carolina and then attending AIT (technical training) At Ft. Gordon GA (near Augusta) Does anyone live in this area? Can you tell me the good and bad neighborhoods around the base? Any good short term leasing apartments or corporate housing that might help? I'll be moving my family with me and they can't stay on base w/ me during my training but I'll be able to get passes to see them on the weekend so it needs to be close to base.

Margie, I live in North Augusta, SC right across the bridge from Augusta, Ga........Let me know exactly what you need to know and I'll try to find answers for you........Are you going to Ft. Jackson in Columbia first??

Thanks! Yes, I'll be in Ft. Jackson for boot camp from May 14 through bootcamp till about July 28. My family will come to my graduation (all packed with a Uhaul) then we'll go straight to Ft. Gordon. I have to have off base housing for them (and me on the weekends). $300-$500 range if possible. We'll only be there for 17 weeks but if I can get as little as a 6month lease that will probably be ok. Weather it's corporate housing, hotel, apartment-whatever I can get in a 1/2 decent neighborhood close to base. Thanks for your help.

I'm northwest of there so I don't know the area too well. They list military Pagans on Witchvox, there might be someone there who could help you out... Good luck! Hope you like GA!

The web site Kenny and Bryant used was www.apartmentfinders.com and www.homefinders.com How old are your girls? Kenny and Bryant live in a nice townhouse complex, very quiet, and they only pay $440.00 a month + electricity and phone. 2 bedrooms 1 and 1/2 baths.....but North Augusta isn't close to the Fort.........Probably about 30 mins. away but a lot nicer place to live than Augusta or Hephzibah........Some of the places close to Fort Gordon aren't the safest to live in.......If you want to ask any questions feel free to PM me or E-mail me!!
