I am so happy! After the SAT's (ug!) my mom took me to a mind body and spirit like store with lot's of pagan stuff!! She's totally clueless about paganism but she likes a lot of the new agey stuff and knows I do too so she brought me there to chill me out after the test, isn't that nice? And she got me a really cool celtic earth mother necklace (not quite as conspicuous as a pentacle! hehe) and some really cool candles, a kokapelli candle holder, and my very own smudge stick!! :D ::runs off to play with new things!!:: Then I am going to have my dad put up this little shelf my brother made for me in woodshop to be kind of a little alter.. the thing I use now is pretty crowded with other stuff that has to go there.. oh well! I'm excited!!

I did! I want to work at a place like that, although I may eventually be affixiated by supurfulous amounts of incense! hehe And yeah I know I did great on the english section of the sat and the math, well I passed.. hehe.. no I think I did ok though on that part. Just math is not one of my talents.. give me literature, vocab, history even some sceince but the math.. ::shudders:: Who wants to be right brained anyway! :) ;)

We had two stores like that where I live, but one moved out a few months ago and the other one is either already gone or will be soon. I'm not too upset because I only went in to look anyhow.

How cool! Don't sweat you're scores on your test either, I only scored an 800. 'Course I wasn't trying very hard anyway. (it was also many MANY moons ago).

Laiste & I go to a store near me. We had so much fun going through all the different rooms. Can't wait to go back again.

Closest "New Age"/Pagan store to me is the Phoenix and Dragon, in Atlanta. The closest store that's actually in my state is some shop up in Huntsville.

I have to go 70/80 miles to the nearest city (Galway) to get to a real pagan-y store which is closed on Sundays (my usual shopping day). Ah, well, I get there often enough. But there's another one about 20 miles away, which is kinda angel-obsessed, but has a good range of crystals... and gorgeous tarot decks, which I'm not allowed to buy because my mother thinks they are 'evil'. I don't know why.

Phoenix_Blue,
Don't know if you saw it but there's another thread about how far you'd be willing to travel to visit a good Pagan shop. I've never been to one and would love to go. You mentioned there's one in Huntsville. I'd be willing to go to Huntsville (if my sis-in-law or my husband would go with me). What's the name of this place and the address? Do they have a web-page?

I'm very lucky in that there's one right down the street from where I work. Of course, the temptation of going there every day on lunch break is huge! It's ver difficult to not give in to that temptation!

I think working at a Pagan shop would be cool, but I'd probably spend my paycheck on goods!

*smiles* How fun for you Tempestuous!

I forget how lucky I am here in Colorado. There's two shops close to my house (no more than 20 minutes away)....and if I drive for about half an hour across town, I can take a trip down a street that's got three stores in the span of about 20-30 blocks. :D

*shakes head* I take it for granted sometimes that Denver's got a pretty open Pagan community, so finding people is never that hard.

I wish I could help you on that one. However, I did do a search through Witchvox's Witches of the World (http://www.witchvox.com/xwotw.html) pages and found this:

Shadows and Light Shoppe (http://www.witchvox.com/wotw/shop_detail.html?id=3560)

They're in Decatur, which isn't far from Huntsville. . .

Supposedly, there're a couple shops in Birmingham, too; if so, that's only an hour away, at least!

If you didn't feel comfortable it's probably best that you left. We found two in our area. One was mostly like a gift shop, but the other is good. It's about 30 - 45 minutes from me, but worth the trip. It's on my husband way home so if there's anything I need he can always pick it up for me.

If you haven't voted yet, don't forget, and by the way vote red!
