Hi all!
If someone would be so kind to look at my chart for me. I'd love to get another person's perspective. I'm coming upon my Saturn return, and all the "loveliness" :ahhhhhhh: that goes along with it.
I've also got some interesting things going on for me in my progressed chart. My progressed sun will be conjunct my south node when I turn 30.
My general feeling right now is uneasiness, unhappiness, indecision about the future, worried about career/money. I know this is due to Saturn in the 2nd house. Any tips on how to survive this period? Any advice on what sort of career I should be in?
Basically I'm reaching a frenetic..."what should I do with my life" phase. :wah:
Here's my info:
Date: 6 Feb 1979
Time: 4:02 pm
Place: Fresno, CA, USA
Thank you very much!

Let me start off by saying that if you freak out about the Saturn Return it'll just make you miserable. And it can indeed be a lovely time (no sarcasm intended), so don't be afraid. Like any outer planet transit, it offers the opportunity to change our life for the better. Saturn may not be Jovian fun and games when he stops by for a visit, but he never gives you anything you can't handle. Sometimes we just wish he didn't believe in us so much! :) (Trust me, Saturn makes his last pass on my chart next week before moving on for the next 29 years. Been there, done that, survived to teach about it.)
I'll go finish your chart and post back this afternoon.

Saturn Returns, blech...
*sorry*...Just remembering my last one...
I have him in my 7th House, R/x, in Pisces! *AAAAAHHHH!!!!*
Naturally, I wound up marrying late in life, to a MUCH older man, who was a control freak, and I tracked Uranus passing, trine Mars, and then made my break. FREEDOM!!!!

With Saturn at 12 degrees of Virgo retrograde, your Saturn Return won’t start until mid-September of 2008, so if you are worried about getting things wrapped up before Saturn stops by, you still have plenty of time to make those changes.
Let me tell you what I tell all my pre-Saturn Return clients – don’t panic. Especially when you have Saturn (fear) in an earth sign (resistance to change), ANY possibility of disruption or alternation is tantamount to destruction. Sometimes a little knowledge can scare us senseless, but in your case let’s take that knowledge and use it to your advantage.
I know you (like most people) are afraid of the Saturn Return. Who wants a big nasty rule enforcer of a planet like a monkey on their back? Doesn’t sound too fun to me! Let me give an example to put it in perspective – I was just pruning my garden this past weekend. I have this mint plant that is basically turning into edible kudzu and it was necessary to cut back the stems that were strangling my sage for the health of both plants. I could have let the mint keeping growing, but it would have smothered the sage, and in the long run not been good for the mint. That is the Saturn return in a nutshell. Saturn prunes back the areas of our life where it is not wise for us to grow. From the perspective of the plant, in comes this nasty gardener with shears that causes pain (Saturn), for the plant (us) is not seeing that uncontrolled growth would eventually kill it. When we can place the pruning in perspective it’s easier to live with and learn from the pain. But it doesn’t need to be a painful process either – that’s what a good astrologer can help you plan for.
Saturn in Virgo teaches us about spending one’s energy wisely and not chasing wild geese, receiving and giving service to others, how to handle criticism, and keeping busy with all of life’s details. Saturn is at about his most inhibited in Virgo; he has this massive fear of criticism which often paralyzes him from taking any action. You said you’re having money problems; with Saturn in the 2nd, that is certainly one manifestation it can take. It’s more the attitude to money and possessions that needs some attention: what is that you’re not doing (or doing incorrectly) in regards to money and why? What are you sacrificing in the name of financial security? What else might you be holding back to feel secure? I couldn’t tell from your post if you were simply worried about money or in trouble with it, but my suggestion is to not let yourself be stopped by what other people will think of you for admitting you’re in over your head (“this person can’t handle money, what an idiot”) and do what you know you need to do. Not to be pedantic, but Saturn is all about taking responsibility for ourselves, and if I had the choice, I'd want to do it myself before Saturn forced me to. Yes, it sucks to have to face that, but often the fear of facing it is more scary than the actual problem.
You have an amazing amount of Air in your chart – 8 planets – so it’s very easy for you to fall into the trap of thinking about doing and not actually doing. Especially since Saturn’s sign of Capricorn is intercepted, you can have trouble keeping organized enough to cope, mostly at work (Cap is in the 6th house). However you are lucky in that Saturn also co-rules the duplicated sign of Aquarius, so Saturn is able to express himself through those houses in conjunction with Uranus. You lack water so you have trouble understanding and dealing with feelings, so when you get worried you get WORRIED and don’t know how to regain your balance. Try this one on for size – emotion is “energy in motion” and you control where your energy goes. Meditate on that one when you get upset. But trust me when I say that unease and unhappiness with where things are is perfectly normal. Everybody goes through that at this stage in life.
You have Chiron in the 10th house and Aries on the cusp, so you are not the type of person to be happy in a steady routine sort of career. But if it’s exciting, maybe even noisy or slightly dangerous, then you’re all over it. Of course self-employment is a good choice for an Aries MC person, however with your dispositor (Mars) in the 7th you probably want to work with other people. But as long as it allows you the freedom to make (some) of your own decisions you’ll be happy. I suggest careers related to Mars in Aquarius – electronics, mechanics, IT, the military, engineering, and maybe even health care or fitness. But again this indicates such a widespread fear of failure (Chiron in Taurus thinks they aren’t good enough) that you may not act on your ambitions, perhaps due to one of your parents being on your case about success. I know that you long for status and to prove your self worth because of some sort of rejection, but don’t overdo it either.
And don’t start fretting about your progressed Sun yet either. Worry is one of the key signatures of your chart but it doesn’t get you anything except stress. Get through this major transit first.
Questions are always welcome.

Right now, I'M dealing with the infamous "Fortytude" aspect: Transiting Uranus oppose my natal Uranus. Oy vey...what's worse is my natal U is in my first House, therefore, my transit U is in my 7th. needless to say, it's...personal. (No pun intended, quit giggling, Keish)
And of course, Pluto is in my 1st House, conjunct the big U, and I'm a Scorpion, if you have'nt already figured that out.
This aspect happens once every 42 years in a chart, and brings on chronic PMS, "stop the world, I want off!!!" attitude, and generally makes you want to slam on the brakes and make a U-turn on your life.
huhhh...
Where's my Valium?

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Wow. There was a lot in that I hadn't even realized (like the Aries MC/working on my own thing). I actually do work for myself, and organization has been a bit of a problem at times.
Chiron...totally forgot that was there. You'll find it interesting that my dad is a Taurus and has had the biggest impact on my views on work. He has felt trapped in his teaching job forever, so he encouraged me to follow my dreams. But when I chose writing he said "it's hard to make money at that..."
I tend to be very detached, obviously with only one water planet. Is there any significance that that happens to be Uranus, my "ruling" planet. Also, getting along with Scorpios has always been difficult for me. I haven't quite got a grasp on what the IC means in my life. How can I guide that water energy through other houses? How can I connect more with others?
Money....it's definitely a management issue. There's always money coming it, but it seems to disappear just as fast. I feel like I'm in the middle of a fast river trying to fill a thimble. It keeps getting knocked out of my hand.
I've definitely let go of a lot of the fear of the return now. Your plant analogy was helpful, and I'm making an effort to organize my finances and my health before Saturn does it for me. I have a chronic condition that effects my energy level, mood, and a lot of other things that I've been ignoring for a long time and haven't been managing well. It's time to give that priority in my life.
Thank you so much again! I appreciate your insights!

I believe Saturn Returns to be life transformitive. I believe the ground work for the return starts some time before the actual event. My first was the time that I grew into my body. It realized that I was more worthy than I was led to believe most of my life. My confidence soared at this point. I got input from people about my career that changed my life for the better. It was simply an amazing time. Having said all this, remember that some of the things that brought this around were not as easy as the completed result appears here. There is no reason to fear the Saturn Return. Both of mine have been life transformative, but always for the best. The lions share of people that I speak with have agreed that the end result was well worth the work and sweat that went into producing them.
Hang tight, and you have nothing to fear, but fear itself. Let go and let God/dess, you will like the end result. Remember, daddy wants what's best for his children.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You're welcome! :)

Yep, sounds like a Taurus to me. :)
I've seen just how hard that is to succeed at - my mother is an author. But interestingly enough she decided to become a writer right around her first Saturn Return. She'd had enough of playing mommy and wanted a career, and that was one that allowed her to stay home and watch us kids, but still create and express herself. Now she's writing books and doing the occasional screenplay-to-novel conversion. It's certainly not a steady living - some months she makes a LOT and then she has a couple in a row with no checks. She depends on my Dad (the Taurus hehehe) for medical benefits, for even now, 30+ years later, her income is not steady. If you truly wish to become a writer, then I suggest finding complementary ways to support yourself - some writers have some *very* interesting careers. Find a national writing support group for support and advice if you choose that direction.

Juno and Vesta are both in Cancer, but as they're not technically planets . . .
Actually your true ruling planet is the one that disposes on your AC - the Sun in Aqaurius, since you have Leo rising. But that your Sun is disposed if by Uranus, yes that has significance. In your case, it's going to influence you in your lifetime to create your own sense of identity - define yourself by your own actions not what others want you to do or be.
I call the IC "Home Base." It's not only how we act while we're at home but where we feel comfortable, how we were raised and some of the unconscious patterns we learned in childhood. It helps if you think of the MC as the "heights" we strive for, the IC is where we came from. Yours is in Libra, disposed of by Venus in the 6th. That can be summed up this way - working out of your home. You cultivate art, beauty, and refinement in your home and are emotionally attached to your household objects. (You'd not do well if your home was destroyed in a natural disaster.) You consider the family a partnership and insist on strict justice and fairness for all members; otherwise emotional problems arise that will put everything out of balance and affect the peace of the household.
As far as Scorpios getting on your nerves, remember that they too are Fixed signs. You and them are going to be naturally square by sign, so there is a lot of adjustment that both would need to make to really get along. And Fixed signs aren't really known for their flexibilty . . . hehehe

I'm glad I could help! Good luck getting your health and energy under control. :)
