How do you sleep? So soundly that if someone yells fire you won't wake? So Light that a pin dropping will wake you? Toss and turn, and take the blankets and sheets off the bed? Stay still as a board, and wake up in the same position you went to sleep in?

If I fall asleep on my husband's chest. I don't move much. I just kick around the blankets a little. If I fall asleep some other way, I end up all over the bed. I'm neither a really light nor really deep sleeper. I kinda go back and forth between the two.

It usually takes me a while to fall asleep. Once I do, Armageddon could take place in the next room, & I'd sleep through it.

Depends. I sleep pretty much through anything. Thunderstorms put me right to sleep. I love them. It seems that the best sleep I get is when a storm is rolling through.

Me, I toss and turn for about 20 minutes before falling asleep, and then, i'm out like a light. I wouldn't exactly call me a heavy sleeper, because I can awaken to noises, or movements in the room. At least, any out of the ordinary noises. Though I don't wake if my husband get's up, normally, because I'm used to that. However, I don't move from my position, once i'm asleep. I sometimes toss the covers off if i'm hot, but I always wake up in the same position I went to sleep in. I don't snore, very rarely talk in my sleep, but the one thing that bugs me more than anything else, is being woken suddenly. If someone wakes me up suddenly, or loudly, I suffer with headdaches the rest of the day. Always been like that. My husband still hasn't learned this, unfortunately. And then wonders why I'm not a morning person.

It takes me forever to fall asleep and then I toss and turn.

Yeah Mol, that's my favorite sleeping time too. During a thunderstorm. I fall asleep like, five minutes after hitting the pillow if it's raining and thundering out :)

I toss and turn a lot, especially lately. I am cool with snuggling for a bit, but when I am ready to sleep it is strictly hands off...poor Mol. He is,unfortunately a snuggler...good thing he has patches!

In reply to Danustouch about being woken, being woken abruptyly during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, also known as dream sleep or deep sleep, is highly dangerous. It can cause serious problems, i.e. Danu's constant headaches when it happens, and quite possibly even heart attacks and/or death for people with weak hearts (all depending on how weak they're heart is, but heart attack's themselve's can cause death too).

Anyways, I am a deep sleeper, and once I fall asleep I usually maintain the same position until I wake, although I do tend to subconsciously steal the blankets. However, even with as soundly as I sleep once I get to sleep, which sometimes can take up to an hour depending on my mood, I can be easily woken by out of the ordinary sounds. I used to wake up every day when I was in high school at 5:45 AM, 15 minutes before my alarm would go off for school, without fail (you could of set your watch by it), and could not figure out why until I realized that that was the time my dad had set the lawn lights to turn on in the morning... Go figure, to be woken up every day by a sound so slight as the click of an elctrical current suddenly being turned on. If I am woken by a strange sound then I am about half awake and half asleep, although once I begin to wake I am normally up for good; but if I hear it or another strange sound again I am instantly aware. As like mol I can sleep through just about anything, I used to live in Southern California after all and that place is highly prone on earthquakes (anything below a 5.0 on the Richter Scale I can sleep through), and I love thunderstorms and used to enjoy stealing my mom's nature cd and falling to sleep listening to their sound playing over and over on my stereo; and to this day I fall asleep the fastest when there is a raging thunderstorm going on.

I can sleep through anything, except the phone, my lifemate returning from work early, or his daughter waking up. I sleep better when it's raining or when my lifemate is home.

HA LIAR!!!!! He is everywhere when he sleeps! I am a large woman and for some reason once he is asleep I am squashed into a six inch line! He is right he is a notorious blanket thief and can sleep through anything. He is one of those wake from a distance people for the arm or leg flies out in the direction of the offending waker. I usually sit at the computer and yell to him :) Me on the other hand once I am out I stay in one spot unless sick or exhasted don't move around and tend to wrap around Naillosotarrain like a scarf. He does however make sure once I have done so I can't move even if I want to as he normally has my arm in a death lock! It normally takes me forever to fall asleep and once I am up that is it.

I wake very easily to light sounds, but I have slept through Twisters that have come right down my street. If I really need a nap, I'll put on my music really really oud, and I'll have the greatest sleep:)
oh, and I sleep on my tummy:)

I absolutely HAVE to sleep on my stomach with my arms over my head and under the pillow. I can't sleep any other way and no one can touch me when I sleep. I HATE that. I toss and turn bunches many times during the night but won't go back to sleep until I'm back in that position, so I don't know why I have to shift. I don't think I sleep lightly or deeply really but if something wakes me up fast--I'm like Danus--MAJOR HEADACHE for the day. Sometimes even migraines.

My husband and I always snuggle for a while, but when I'm ready to sleep, I've got to roll over to my side of the bed and get in my favorite position--on my side, almost on my stomach with my head resting on my arm. Usually I fall asleep easily. But I don't wake up very easily. I'm fuzzy-headed and grumpy for a long time. I'm definitely not a morning person.

I have to have the radio or TV on to fall asleep. Except when I'm at Eshallet's house. At his house, I just curl up next to him and pass out. That's the ideal, but Goddess forbid I don't fall asleep before him  He SNORES SO LOUD I SWEAR THE WINDOW'S RATTLE!! The only thing that wakes me up there is his dog whinning in the corner for some reason or another.
At my place, I sleep the "Mom" sleep. I bet you parents can relate. I pretty much sleep through all kinds of stuff, unless it's my son. I can hear him cough, whimper or sneeze and I'm up "listening" to make sure he's okay. Usually my dogs here wake me in the middle of the night, because they like to bark at my poor neighbor who works late at nite. If Eshallet isn't here, (my house) i have a pillow to snuggle with, since the cat doesn't like to stay in one place at night.

I have to have the TV on when I go to sleep. That, or music has to be playing. If I don't have either one distracting me, I start thinking and worrying and can't fall asleep. I have recently become a big fan of late night TV. ;) I don't know how deeply I sleep, but I usually curl up on one side or another (or on my back...never on my stomach) and toss and turn for a while until I doze off. I have a LOT of trouble waking up. Oh, and I'm a horrible cover hog!

I usually fall asleep rather quickly... i like to sleep on my side or on my back with a pillow over my head. I got into that habit in college and havent been able to break it... I usually get up at least once a night. I am definitely not a snuggler when im sleeping. In the morning.. i have a hard time sleeping in unless the house is very quiet.

when I'm by myself, I toss and turn a lot, even before I go to sleep. On one side, get comfy, suddenly get urge to flip and flop. . . scramble to my other side. . . flop on my back. . . wiggle onto my stomache. . . roll and curl up on my other side. . . I have no CLUE how I fall asleep best. I think on my back, though when I was younger I never could.
I sleep deeply, though I might not seem it. I'm not sure lol but I think I toss and turn a lot, hog the blankets, and this weird thing - especially if I've been stressed lately, I will start moaning in my sleep as though I'm in great pain. Several friends and family members have observed this. . .-_- according to my mom, for my whole life >.< I'm like . . ."and this never indicated to you that maybe there was a problem?" LOL
The past few nights I've been sleeping really lightly - not waking up, but not getting rest. I've been kinda stressed. . . *sighs*
But if I'm in my dearheart's arms. . . I sleep very well. For once, no nightmares. It's wonderful.
**cute story alert**
one night, when my sweetheart was sleeping over ('cause the busses weren't running right) I was all kinda upset and stuff. . . well see we put my bed's matress on the floor for him, and I slept on a bunch of pillows on the box-spring. . . and I was crying and he was holding me, but then my mom heard me and omg I was so embarrassed. I blew out the candles (I like it better than lightbulbs, sometimes) and curled up in the farthest corner of my bed. I eventually fell asleep, but when I woke up in the morning - I was in his arms!! Sometime during the night I crawled over to him. . . And - he was awake! He was laying still, watching me sleep, so he wouldn't wake me. . . . :)

how I sleep totally depends on my mood.If I'm in a bad mood, I'll toss and turn. If I'm in a good mood, I wake up in the same position I fell asleep in. On some nights, I sleep very lightly so even the sound of something small dropping next to me wakes me up, on other nights I'm out of it so bad that nothing will wake me up. lol

I always fall asleep on my side and sometimes I wake up with a completely numb arm. But sometimes I wake up wrapped in my quilt unable to move...like a catapillar in a cocoon. :) That never fails to freak me out--waking up and not being able to move your limbs w/out some wrestling with the blanket.

I need to try that thunderstorm on cd Idea....I soooooooo miss thunderstorms. It has only really rained maybe 3 times since last August....we need rain.
I cannot fall asleep unless I am on my stomach...Kills my back, but no sleep is worse...
I also sleep thru noises as I lived next to a busy train yard for quite sometime, but if is is a "strange" noice, I am AWAKE. And if the noise is really "wrong" I investigate until I find it. Cannot go back to sleep until I know.

I am an extremely light sleeper and wake often during the night.
Toss and turn, kick off the cover and then put them back on a few minutes later. Usually fully awake by 5:00 A.M. every day.

I'm a very light sleeper ..i can hear the cat walking across the floor. It takes me forever to fall asleep. If something wakes me i have to wait forever to fall asleep again. room must be pitch black ..even the tiniest bit of light will bother me. I have black velvet curtains for this reason. favorite position to sleep = on tummy!!

I've no problems with sleeping. I usually fall asleep quickly, on my side with my arm under my head, and I don't wake up very easily. A phone has to ring for a long time for me to wake up and realize I'm not dreaming anymore ;) But if nothing disturbs me I can sleep till noon. Twelve hours of sleep isn't too much for me. :D

Most often I fall asleep really quickly, usually within 10 mins (did you know the average person falls alseep within 7 minutes?). If, however, there's something on my mind that I can't stop thinking about, it'll take me forever to fall asleep. Once I'm asleep, the smallest noise will wake me up, which is a horrible combination with my hubby because he could sleep through a hurricane, so the alarm has to be set really loud for him to hear it, and it just ends up scaring the crap out of me when it goes off. I'm told that I sleep on my left side, and that I'm a moderate snorer...it's worse when I'm in a dry climate. :D

Wow.. this is gonna be a fun one for me LOL
I have sleep apnea.. I stop breathing when I get to that really wonderful deep sleep.. so probably 8 or 9 times during the night, I get startled awake, cause I'm not breathing. And being startled awake sucks.
Also, I had my adnoids out when I was 16.. but before that, they were so big that I couldn't breathe out of my nose.. ever. So I snored like crazy. LOL
It usually takes me about an hour to fall asleep. I sleep usually on my tummy.. but sometimes on my side. I toss and turn all night, and I am a complete blanket hog. I'm also not one for snuggling. I like my space. :)
My doctor told me I probably haven't had a real good normal nights sleep since I was a baby, cause of the sleep apnea. But he told me it's really nothing to worry about until I get older... and it's something I've gotten used to, I suppose.. I just hate the constant feeling of being tired.
I am SO not a morning person. My boyfriend gets mad cause if someone or something else wakes me up, they are evil and must be destroyed. LOL I would rather wake up on my own. And talking to me before I've had my coffee or first cigarette is NOT a good idea.
