My sister is graduating tomorrow and I just finished writing her toast to the teachers, no one else is home and I need some feedback so please give it a read and tell me what you think.

They're our confidants, they're our mentors, they're our substitute parents. They are the glue that holds Holy Name Of Mary Academy together. Without the care and support of the wonderful teachers I toast here today we could not possibly have made it to this point in our lives. They did not simply fill our heads with facts, instead they taught us to think for ourselves. No matter the obstacles we could always count on them to help us through the troubled times and to give us that inspiring speech when we were less than motivated. And today I would like to leave them with some words of wisdom to consider when they are in need of some inspiration :

A hundred years from now it will not matter what your bank account held, the sort of house you lived in, or the kind of car you drove, but the world may be different because you were important in the life of a child.

Excellent. Now,read it out loud several times, to see where your natural pauses are, when you will need a breath etc. Also where do you want to add emphasis? Then do be sure to breath there so you don't sound breathless. It really helps to breath and use it as a natural point in what you say. I put little stars on my card or in my memory to mark the place to breath.

I would be sure to take a brief moment before the last sentence...as it is a paraphrase of a quote and so true it needs the pause to emphasis...

Hope this really helps...it will be very special. :)

That's awesome...but why are you writing it??? Don't tell me you spoil your sister like I do!!! However, my lil sis was the speech writer...I just bought her everthing she wanted...hey wait I still do!! This reminds me of the speech she did in FFA about E-Coli...it was written in first person by the E-Coli...funny, informative stuff. (I don't mean your speech..just the whole thing...your speech is great)

Teachers would love to hear that speech. That last paragraph must be famous, since those words are framed in the office of my work. :)
