*chuckles* You may as well ask me which I like more, breathing or having my heart beat!
Here's the top five....in no particular order.
1. Illumination's Lavender (it's got a nice sweet smell)
2. Vanilla
3. Anything citrus
4. Energy and Will candle (frankensence, myrrh, and dragon blood)
5. Illumination's Goddess candle Sarasvati (clove and something else I'm not sure)

I also like mints, lavendars, honeysuckle and anything by the Yankee Candle Company!

Vanilla.... that's my favorite smell :p Well, aside from Rain, but I haven't ever smelled a rain candle... do they make candles that smell like rain? That's the best smell :)
Lavender

I love all different scents but it would depends on my mood. Right now, I think my all time fav would be plain old beeswax. I love the honey scent from a pure beeswax candle.

Everyone I know either loooves Vanilla or says it gives them a headache. I'm both :)
I also like sandalwood, cinnamon and grapefruit but my all time favorite (oh so ashamed!) is the Baked Apple Pie scent by Home Interior! Can't live without those. Everytime someone goes to one of those parties they buy them for me :D Yummy.

I personally only buy unscented candles... That way I can put whatever oil on them that suits my mood at the time.

Even though this thread is on candle scents, I was wondering whether you guys usually prefer to use scented or unscented candles.

I prefer unscented candles myself although I found some apple cinnamon ones that weren't bad, mostly because they aren't terribly strong.

That's nice. Most of the scented candles that I have a nice subtle smell. However, we all have different opinions on what smells nice. For that reason, I usually use unscented candles when others are around.

That's true too....When I have guests over, I'd be using some of my unscented (usually fancier) ones, but when I'm alone doing whatever, I use my scented ones. ;)

I'd have to say just about anything that smells good (especially pine, anything with "ocean," "sea," etc in the name, and stuff like that) except food candles (like vanilla, berries, etc). I'm one of those people that hates (!!!) vanilla candles.

;) You're not the only one, Psyche Ague!
Though I do have 2 of them, you can't even tell that they smell like vanilla (they're more like..unscented!)

Hey, JadeDragonfly, have you tried Bath and Body Works Creamy Coconut lotion???
Candles - I buy lots of Yankee Candle votives and try to chose scents in relation to color if they are to be used for any ritual purpose.
Some favorites though:
Violet and Birch, Midsummer's Night, Vanilla Cookie, Honeydew Melon; Spiced Pumpkin; Stargazer Lily.
