Hello I'm kinda of new to this forum, I need a little advice.

I just moved into an apartment about 2 months ago. This is very hard to explain so bare with me. When i go to sleep I dont know if i'm asleep and dreaming or if i'm in some sort of trance or what.
But in this state nothing is different its like i'm sleeping in my bed awake and aware kinda, and i have this uncontroble feeling that there is something there i cant see it, it's a feeling and its overwheleming and i'm terrified to get off my bed or even look around and when i do look around its almost like i can see something out of the corner of my eye but i cant pin point it and i only see it when i turn my head. Then all of the sudden i snap out of it and i dont know if i was dreaming of what and its worse when i become aware. the last time this happend my cd (which was on repete) was shut off and it was to quite but i did not want to move i just could not shake this feeling and i dont know what to do. After these episodes and finaly i do fall asleep the rest of the night i sleep very hard and its dreamless when i wake in the morning i dont even have a fant or hazy recall of a dream but i'm always exhausted.

The whole time i have lived in this apt. this is only happand the last 3 nights. Nothing like this has happend to me befor i have looked and looked and cant seem find a solution.

Please can someone offer me some advice as to what is happening to me.

I know the feeling! :D

It's your apartment, your bedroom, your space. Make sure any unwanted spirits know that they are not welcome there. Tell them to leave and don't back down. This usually works for me. I ask politely but if they still don't go I stop being nice. That always works!

It might help to put some shields around your room or create a room guardian/servitor to protect you.

Good luck!

You'll probably want to start by cleansing the apartment and using sage or some other purification ritual.

I had this happen at two points in my life. The CD thing caused a major flashback for me! lol. The first time it happened was when i was 12 years old..so before I discovered Paganism. So at that time, I did what Earthcup mentioned. I just told the "thing" in no uncertain terms, that it was not welcome there, and never to return. I also slept with my bible for a while, for some reason, believing it to be a protection talisman. Anyway.that thing about the music shutting off...I can top that one. One time when I was twelve and this presence was in my room, I was listening to a tape of Amy Grant. And all of a sudden, I started "hearing" the songs..all in spanish. I didn't KNOW much spanish at that time, beyond "Que Pasa". But..I knew what Spanish sounded like. And there were NO spanish songs on that tape! I freaked out completely!

Anyway..then it happened again after I became Pagan, in my first apartment. In that case, I burned a black and a white candle, together, sprinkled rose water, and salt at all the corners of the house, and again in the bedroom, left a window open a crack to "let it out", burned sage, and spoke some banishing words. It worked for me at the time. Hope it helps for you! Good luck.

And hang windchimes, maybe in front of a window, or where they will be blown by an air vent, or fan...

Check out this thread..."Depressed when getting up in morning" in this forum. Rick has some excellent info along with my two cents worth. I hope these all help you. BB :sunny:

I have been studing the Astral and the book I am reading describes something like that where your energy body leaves your physical body but your conscious stays in the physical body and you can sense that your energy body is in the room. And being that you feel in a trance may indicate that that is what is happening. It doesn't mean it isn't a ghost but it could be just an OBE that failed to bring your mind with it.

It sounds like you might have experienced "Sleep Paralysis." During certain periods of the sleep cycle, your muscles are paralyzed to prevent you from acting out your dreams. Sleep paralysis occurs when your mind wakes up before your body comes out of this stage.

I have experienced this for about ten years. I will have a period of two or three nights when these occur, then it won't happen for 6-12 months. It usually happens when I am napping or when I have woke up in the morning, then went back to sleep. I find that it happens more often when I'm lacking sleep and I sleep on my back (I normally sleep on my stomache).

I have had experiences where I can not open my eyes or move my body, but am totally aware of what is going on around me (I know where I am and can hear others nearby talking, etc.). I have also had experiences where I have hallucinated (much like what you have described below). Sometimes I can see me lying on my bed in my room. I either feel a bad presence in the room with me or can see it in shadow form. I have also had experiences where I can not open my eyes and hallucinate that I can feel someone sitting on my bed near me, or they are in the room moving things around.

These experiences are very terrifying and its difficult to shake the feeling. I usually have a panic attack and it becomes very difficult to breathe. Now when they occur, I know what is happening to me. Because I am awake, I can talk myself into going back to sleep and it usually works. Some people try to move a part of their body (like wiggle a finger) to come out of it, but this doesn't work for me because nothing will move- sends me into the panic state if I'm not already there.

Here are some sites with more information on sleep paralysis. If you search, you'll find others with similar experiences. I can't explain the CD though!

the more I read your post the more it made me look back, I have had alot of those experences listed in your links just not as vivid as the recent ones I only had them for 3 nights and have not had them since. I cant belive that it took me this long to relize it. Once when I was about 7 I had a dream that someone was trying to kidnapp me and I became aware that i was asleep and I tried to move and open my eyes and the more I fought the more terrified It became when I did awake everyone was around me so I must have startled them (pheew.....big relief) thank you very much now it wont be such a scary thing when it happens again (and I know it will happen again).
