MM,
I know that "self-discipline" does indeed lie within yourself.. but sometimes that urge to have pizza for dinner.. or to have some ice cream for desert is much stronger that your sense of self-discipline.
I exercise. I work out. As a teen guy I need to keep the body going.. but I really need to work on my self-worth. Sometimes it is no problem saying no to that piece of candy.. or to that scoop of ice cream. But then sometimes it isn't.. and I tell myself that I'll go back on my diet tomorrow. And it just happens again!
I am not fat yet.. but I am trying to STOP eating those body pollutants.. sugar... caffein... grease... beef. But it gets so hard to say no to these things.. and I am really afraid of getting back to my bad habits.
I tried a visualization to Artemis in Kala Trobe's "Invoking the Goddess", in which I adopted the physical characteristics of Artemis in order to create a body mold for myself. But that has NOTHINg to do with self-discipline.
So I was hoping that some of my Pagan friends had the same problem. lol Well, you know what I mean. Do any of you have any meditations, visualizations, or affirmations that could help to strengthen my sense of self-discipline? Perhaps I could get some ideas from you guys to write my own! Thanks.
