I turned in my pre-production plan for a short film this past week and my professor gave it back to me saying it needed a better tagline if the title is going to be so esoteric.

The title is "Black Hellebore."

Do you all think this is "too esoteric" ?

I just thought "Christmas Rose" was a little strange for a story about a little Wiccan girl!

I'm having trouble thinking on this clearly. Do we see many movie titles with mysterious titles? Would you not be interested in the movie if you didn't know what the title meant? Would you just look it up or would it turn you off?

if people cant figure out the title, and its the only thing they have
to go on, it might discourage them from seeing it. That is what you
have to deal with. Whether the Artistic part of you wants to risk
what you consider a cool title even if it hinders the ability of the
piece to reach others.

I havent seen it, and cant tell enough about it by what you have
said. Right now, I would only see it cause it was done by a MW
member, definitely not the title.
