Mercury Rx

Today, from our point of view on Earth, Mercury the Messenger. appears to hang stationary as it begins its three week retrograde period.
This is a time to clean out our intellectual closets and to rethink plans that do not hold up to close scrutiny. Try to avoid impulsive decisions during this period for it is likely that we can miss important facts. Think things through with great determination.


When Mercury is retrograde how do you let it affect your life? Do you use the fact it is retro for excuses in not communicating to the extent you simply become the flower on the wall for fear of miscommunicating? Do you find yourself saying, "Oh well, I knew it wouldn't work out, Mercury is retrograde."?

Instead of gluing yourself to one of the four walls why not take advantage of this period that only last for three weeks and ask your self "Is it time to re-align my life to the goals I have set for myself?" It is a great time to delve deeper into your hearts desires. Ready yourself for when the direct lines of communication are ready to accept your new projections you have your arms wrapped around.

It's a great "get to know myself better" time! Because we know that miscommunication in all areas of our life can exist at the this time why not make it one of introspection? Why not go within and ask questions knowing you have plenty of time to listen for the answers. It doesn't have to be a negative aspect of life at all but one of greater clarity!

Develop your intuition during this time. Listen more to your inner wisdom and guidance, listen more to what others are saying about their life lessons and how their lesson may be on you can learn from in your life. Learn from listening, it's a super way to re-direct your life when the planet is spinning in reverse. The mere fact it seems to reverse itself alone is our cue to go back and take a long look at how we are doing, are we on track, and do we like where we are now? Has our goals and inner knowing led us in the right direction?

Should you not like what you see after a personal inventory of self then take this time and re-route your energy. Write down exactly the direction you want to take after researching where you have been. A retrograde in regards to any of the planets in the Universe tells us one thing ... Look at where you have been and adjust your life long goals accordingly. Nothing else, nothing negative, it is all a positive step in the right direction! Consider it a three week retreat and get to know your self better!

Traditional astrology doesn't seem too on the money for birth prediction. Vedic astrology, and from that I mean Sidereal, is more in tune with the medical aspects. No astrologer can say when is a good time for childbirth as each child makes his and her own choice onto when to manifest on the physical plane.

It seems like everywhere I go, someone is complaining about any little thing they can think of that I'm doing, and trying their best to get me in trouble for it. I'm not the only one that I know that's complained about this around here. Things were going so well up until a couple of weeks ago. Is this all part of Mercury going retrograde?

Yes, this is very typical of Mercury Rx since it has a strong effect on communication. It often seems that we can't open our mouths without getting into an argument. There's more detailed information on the first and second pages of this thread.

It seems to be affecting our handfasting plans........first, we can't have the ritual where we planned, Semele may not be able to attend and my son might be shipped off for training..........

But as for my work - everything fell into place for scheduling clients this past weekend, it went very smoothly - but I ended up tripping and falling in a client's yard and really injuring myself - now I'm curious as to whether this has an effect on our personal safety?

You are doing a great job in here :) maybe you should try writing it down, taking a few moments to ground and center, and then think about what you need to say and write a little something down... this may sound funny, but it will help you to keep your thoughts in check :)

I did not know we were in mercury rx lol, I have not been paying attention :( been sooo busy with clients that i haven t had the time to notice, I dont think this one could ever be as bad as the one in June, if you remember , we had TWO eclipses going on at the time, so i think we will be ok:)

Yes, Ladylasarya, I was one of those people who just broke up with a bf. We just had a lovely holiday break together. Then, suddenly, he told me last week that the relationship was over. I think some of the confusion and communication problems is attributed to Mercury Rx. Anyway, I am looking forward to Imbolc. To me, it's a time of renewal, so I'm going to renew my love in myself.

Okeydokie.........I've been trying to grow my hair out AND get it done for our upcoming wedding. Between the 10th and the 20th, I saw two different hairdressers, the first one twice, who acted like they knew what I was talking about and I still walked out of there unhappy.

Stopped by the place I'd gone the second time last night and got someone different, who finally did what I wanted. If it were not for our handfasting, I would have avoided this altogether......it's being over really did seem to make a big difference.
