When I was a toddler, I clearly remember flying and floating. When my mother put me in for a nap and closed the door, I would climb to the top of my highest dresser, jump off, and circle the room until I gently touched down on my stomach. I also recall floating over my bed. I recently read that this could be connected with alien abductions. It was in a list of signs to look for that suggest that you've been abducted. I felt completely in charge, though. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences.

One of the elements of many of my recurring dreams is the sensation of skimming across the floor instead of walking ... as if I was skating without skates.
Your floating experience is not strange especially in childhood, because we often lose things as we grow older and a bit jaded. :(

I am traveling doen a hill in some odd vehical at break-neck speed when I hit a bump. I get launch so high in the air, I can't really see the houses to clearly. Then I plummet right back down. Iusually wake up before I hit ground but will remain asleep if I land in a tree or in water.
It's pretty scarey,

I've had those dreams, too. I wasn't dreaming the flying thing though, the floating one was possibly a dream. I vividly recall waiting for my mother to close the door, and then climbing up on top of my dresser, and flying. I was probably around 2, maybe 3 at the most. It didn't last for very long. A few Months, tops. I've told friends and family about this, to get the "Oh my, She's insane!!!" look. I have a vivid memory practically from infant on. I even remember my earliest pediatrician that we stopped seeing when I was 9mos old!!! The list of Alien Abduction signs jarred the memory. I always, in the past, chalked it up to being a witch. Now, I'm questioning that.

I used to have 2 recurring dreams - one is when I'm flying but I don't really have any control. I feel like I'm really floating out into space or something. It feels really spooky & real. I can see the streets & my house getting smaller & smaller as I fly higher & higher. I can feel myself forcing myself to come down.
The other dream is I'm in a building - something with lots of corridors & stairs. Something is either chasing me or I'm running from someone. I'm just running down the halls & stairs very fast. Sometimes I'm running so fast that I'm skipping stairs - jumping from stairwell to stairwell. It just goes on endlessly until I wake up.
Haven't had these dreams in years but I still remember them vividly & they still give me the shivers!

I saw somewhere that some scientist recreated the experience of an "alien abduction" with magnetic resonances on awake subject with sensory dampening helmets on. It was interesting but I don't have an opinion either way until the "little green men" come down and announce themselves. I think I am a more likely subject for an abductee because I can't remember much about my life before high school.
As for your floating, COOL! If you can remember your doc before age 9mos don't question this. I believe we lose alot of knowledge from our past lives as babies. Growing up and getting it filltered out of us. Chalk it up to being a witch, maybe you can relearn it.

There are a lot of things that aren't always easily explained. And like bluecat said - when we're children we are more open to things that later become "impossible" to us because of "physics" and other such explanations.
Levitation has been achieved by many people - so there's no reason that a 2yr old can't "fly" either.
It's a great experience! Treasure the memories. :)

I believe the gods tell us things through dreams and I do dream interpretation with symbology. Each person has different symbols that mean a certain thing but I write down all dreams and figure out what my dreams are telling me. Maybe that might help?
