I am the HighPriest of my coven, and i have been thinking about getting some custom jewelry made to symbolize us as a whole. there are four of us each representing an element, i am think of having pendants made: strung on silver chains, to represent the coven, our connection, and our elemental ties binding us together.

a little background first.

I began with a close friend of mine, Mel, and we didn't even know it was going to become such a journey... what happened was:

One night, we were doing a small ritual to help bring justice in a court case and she began Automatic writing. Noticing this i mentioned that not everyone can do it, usually one must have at least a touch of the "Meduim" gift. Then, something came over me and i was able to just "know" how to get her in touch with it, i taught her how to go into the proper state and she grasped the lesson quickly. less than an hour later, she eased in to the trance state... a being quickly came through who only identified herself as the old one, and said she was here to guide the speaker (meaning she was my friends guide). Later, she informed me that when she was younger (she was 38 at the time), she could levitate and read things (Psychometry).

Since that night, i have been able to recall how to do things i, myself, was not able to do, Such as Channeling and Psychometry. It began with just myself and her, soon after my best friend Khell expresssed interest in joining and after consulting my guides, she was accepted. I became a teacher of two students, two budding witches and i was only 18, but what is age, it is just a number.

Seeking help on how i knew these things i called upon Azrael, the keeper of the gates, (It is not his true name just the one i know him by) he informed me that the path set out for me led me to teach and bring the old ways back into the world. He also said that although this was set for me, it is my choice whether i follow it or not. I have since decided to follow it, it feels right for me.

Now with two students, both who were learning very quickly, we were slowly forming the base of the coven. At one point, i met a Friend of Mel's, her name is Angel and my guides whispered to me that she was to make the fourth addition. i brought it up to her, and she said that although she dabbled, she was looking for a home and a teacher. and like that our coven was sealed. It has been a little over a year and we have since discovered our individual talents.

Mel aka Tareia : Psychic, specializes in Astral projection, channeling, and Psychometry.

Angel: Conduit, Specializes in energy workings.

Khell: Diviner, specializes in Tarot.

And myself, Tahroh: High Priest, Guide. I am Talented in Weather magick and shaping raw energy. In our circles, I guide and shape our raw power into the intent we are working for.

We are blood bound to one another, the link extends beyond the physical, the mental, it connects our very souls. When one of us is hurt, sad, happy , in trouble, we all feel it. we are as one entity. we are never alone. it is a wonderful feeling.

I want the pendants to symbolize this, to symbolize us. To let us know that although we may be apart, we are never by ourselves.

The question i have, is does anyone know where i may find a good "Occult" friendly Custom Design jeweler? One who allows not only a design of one's own making but also the choice of metal and gemstones?

Also i wish to hand-sew a hooded cloak for each of us, anyone might know where i might find some good patterns? (I know this is not related to the forum but i might want to add a broach to it as well)

Thank you.

I have no idea where you live so it is hard for me to talk about good and bad and/or occult friendly. I have however had several pieces of Jewelry made for myself in the past and have been happy with all of them.

I've always been of the mind that unless I personally make the object it is mundane until I program it for my use and it teaches me about its energies and my programming and its enrgies unite and evolve for the benefit of both... even if the individual making it is "occult minded". A piece made by another individual, no matter how good the intentions are, should still be cleansed and programmed by the end user in my opinion. If not cleansed programmed for sure as no artisan, no matter how sympathetic to your needs, can bond with the item for final work as the end user can and must. (I'm talking about personal tools/pieces of jewelry and not Amulets or Talismens.. those are different altogether)

I think the most important thing is to deside the medium with which you want the work created and search out artisans who can work with that medium compitently. To me this is the most difficult thing. Another thing that helps the process is, if possible, you collect and choose the raw material yourself based on your contact with the material and then have the raw material shaped into your needs by someone capable of doing so.

Now....

The above process is obviously for an intimate piece where money is really not that big of an issue and it may involve several artisans at different stages. Example: one stage/artisan to cut the stones to a desired form and a second stage/artisan to work the cut stone(s) into a mount of some form be it gold, platinum, silver, iron, wood... you get the idea. This process of course will be expensive and will take time but the end products are well worth it in my opinion... I have had a ring made using 5 different artisans and from start to finish the process took about 8 months not incuding me seeking out the raw materials.

The next step down would be to go to a cut stone supplier and pick out the stones/objects you are drawn to and then take those objects to a jeweler who can work them into a desired mount. (or whatever type of artisan is required to place the object you want into the type of mount required)

Leaving out several steps another choice is just to go to an artisan and talk to him/her about your idea and the materials you wish to use and work together to sketch out what you want.

Lastly, occult stores and many online places offer all sorts of unique/custom pieces which may suite your needs...

As you may have guessed the first step is to deside how much you want to spend and how much you can realistically be involved in the process... everything else after that will slowly fall into place.

In regards to artisans being occult friendly... I can't speek for everyone but in my travels I have found that when it comes to things like this one need not be specific enough to raise questions from the artisan. If the design is that obvious then talking with the artisan about the process and needs works great. I have found that 99% of all artisans are some of the most open-minded people you will ever meet and are more than willing to help you create such a unique item which is so special.

When I had my ring made it involved 1 artisan who could work with platinum, one to work with gold and silver, one who had cut meteorites in the past and a gem cutter along with an artist to draw up my ideas. Only one of these people is pagan (the artist who drew and designed the ring with my input) and several are devout christians. When the piece was done all wanted pictures of it and all were honored to be allowed to place a microscopic lazered bindrune of their name onto the piece.

Anyways.. as you can see.. there can be many steps involved in such a process and each one needs to be considered by you individually in order that the end product is what you want and falls within your budget.

I thank your for your input, it is much appreciated. The reason i wanted to try to find a open-minded individual is my idea is for 5 pendants, each to represent one point of a pentacle. Each one will have a point and part of the circle with a gem representing the element placed at the top. so that when joined together they will make a pentacle. signifying that even alone we are part of a whole.

Why five pendants when there are four of you?

we hope to have a fifth one day. In fact, someone is looking to be initiated she is just currently in london. we are waiting on her to return to the country before we go any further.

Again, artisans.. especially artisans who do custom work for individuals tend to be some of the most open-minded people you will encounter seeing they are asked to work for individuals with many differing ideas and beliefs. Looking at it strickly from a business point-of-view they would drastically be limiting their business if they were to impose their personal beliefs or ideas on what they are or are not willing to work on.... This has been my experience anyways. Also, most artisans jump at the idea of working on something new that they have never tried before if it still falls within their medium. These individuals usually thrive on learning new concepts from different people or cultures from around the world. Even though they may never again work for a "pagan" ... some of the things they discover while working with them may very well be incorporated into future pieces... this is after-all how we all grow and for artisans this is one of the main ways that their art evolves...

I personally would be much more concerned with finding a quality artisan who can actually do what you are looking for in the medium you want.
