Had anyone read "Wishcraft" by Barbara Sher. It looks like a great bbok. It helps you find what you really want to be doing in your life, reaching back to you childhood and what you were fascinated in. However I cant get though the book becasue for some reason i have blocked out my childhood until i was in 5th grade and some of that is foggy to. And this is bad because I am only 19. Well anyway I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before or they know how to fix it. i tried talking to my parents but everything they say i dont remember and I've also tried talking to my old friends but they dont really understand what I am talking about.

A lot of people don't remember much of their childhood.
Try to visualize what your parents tell you, and don't push it. Also do what I said in the other thread (start visualizing simple fruits etc., and try using other methods of sense to do so) for awhile beforehand. If possible get objects that were with you as a child - look at kids clothes or toys or even visit the house where you lived, or look at your old baby stuff and school stuff that is packed away. That could give you a lot of clues without even having to remember.

Smell is really connected to memory (no one really knows why except that they are physically close together in the brain). So try getting some childhood smells and memory might come from there.

Chibi is right - sense memory is often the strongest and best way of triggering memories. You might also want to try keeping a journal of your dreams - sometimes old memories resurface there too. You might also try regression, if there is a hyponotist you really trust. I am wary of that sort of thing though, because there is so much tendancy towards post-hypnotic suggestion when one goes to a hypnotherapist.
