I realize that the members of this website are located all over the world, but this is definately worth posting. If you happen to be in Southern California, and believe in tolerance for all religions, I hope to see you there.
This religious summit is for everyone... all faiths... including Wiccans and Pagans. If you should decide to go, but are not "out of the closet" Pagan, worry not. You can keep your pentacle in your shirt and blend with an unknowing crowd.

The Antelope Valley Interfaith Council is sponsoring an Afternoon of Interfaith Prayer for Religious Tolerance in McAdams Park in Palmdale, California (38115 30th St East/Cross Street Avenue R) on Sunday May 19, 2002 from 2:00pm till 5:00pm. The event is open to the public and is in response to recent happenings in Lancaster, CA that have made National Headlines and sparked unrest in the religious community. This event is expected to draw National and Local Media attention.
The Interfaith Council¹ is a body of religious leaders who seek to unite in mutual support, study, dialogue and action. Our faiths motivate us to:
acknowledge the God-given dignity of all people; share a compassion for all, regardless of race, gender, age, abilities, or sexual orientation; embrace our commonality and diversity, both of which enhance us and bring us wisdom; and seek to be a collective voice for human rights and justice in our own
faith communities, the Antelope Valley, and in the larger community.
Scheduled activities for the event will include:
… Performances by the Antelope Valley Interfaith Choir.
… Prayers of Peace and Tolerance by members of the Interfaith Council in their respective faiths: Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Native American, Religious Science, Unity, and Wiccan.
… Raffles for items donated by area businesses.
… Addresses by Local Officials including the Mayor of Palmdale.
… Closing performance by local singing sensation Charlie Davis.
Food and drink (non-alcoholic) are welcomed at the event or may be purchased from local area vendors in the park. Proceeds from general donations, food sales, and raffle tickets will benefit Local Charities in the Antelope Valley, the Interfaith Council, and the Interfaith Choir.
If you have any questions, contact Lisa Morgenstern at reikidreamcrafter@earthlink.net
Feel free to distribute this widely. We are hoping for great attendance!
