Does anyone have any experience with this demon? I found this description:

Ashtaroth, Astaroth (Phonician)- goddess of lust, seduction. Same as Ishtar. Turned male in christian mythology - Lord Treasurer of Hell. Prince of accusers and inquisitors. Demon of vanity and sloth. One of the 72 spirits of Solomon.

I wouldn't say she's the "same" as Ishtar, perhaps evolved from her, but not the "same".

I haven't had any experience with Asherah (the goddess) or the demon Ashtaroth, but I don't view them as the same, I personally see Ashtaroth as related to her, as a kind of descendant but not the same as the goddess Asherah.

If I were you, you could ask in the Magic & Rituals forum or go onto Sacred-Magick library (http://www.sacred-magick.com/Main.html?http://www.sacred-magick.com/PDF.html) or ask in the forum (http://www.sacred-magick.org/).

Or try Occultforums.com (http://www.occultforums.com/).

Sorry, I haven't been of more help.

BTW, if it's the goddess Asherah you want to learn more about, then you may want to try these threads:

Some people might see her/him as the same but I think theres too much differences. Like how Astarte came to be Aphrodite.

Experiences? No. I haven't.
Are you also looking for info? You can find some sites here (http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-&p=Astaroth).

I haven't had any experiences but I did just finish reading the book When God was a Woman. The booked talked about Astaroth & Astereth ect.... It was and interesting book. The author belived that Astaroth was a male form of the name for the Goddess as one of the many ways of getting rid of goddess worship going on at that time. Sorry I can't be more detailed. My brain doesn't work that way. lol.

I haven't had many specific experiences with her/him/it; but I've had some experiences with Ishtar. Funny how Google doesn't tell you she's a blood deity...

A lot of people think Ishtar/Inanna (her Sumerian name) is a "mother goddess", but the truth is she's an independent woman - she does what she wants, when she wants. She was also a goddess of war and was one of the few Sumerian gods to receive human sacrifice.

Wasn't that mainly those who were soldiers that surrendered?

Also, there is an Athtar, which is an arabic god who does alot of what Ishtar does and is the masculine form of Athtarat (ashtaroth), maybe the two names got mixed up?
