is truly what I cherish most in my life.

I think it is wonderful to take a few moments to celebrate friends. A true friend to me is someone who has managed to climb over that wall I hide behind, who sees me with clear eyes (taking into consideration all that I offer.....good and bad), and accepts me for exactly who I am.

There are a few people who have fallen into this shy-girls world, and truly became good friends. They are like my family and I love them each dearly.

This describes my best friend. She is one of the only people hwo will really lay it on the line for me. And I respect her 100% for that. (She is also one of the few pwople who can get away with it too;))

To me a friend is someone who can see inside of you, accept the good with the bad but can bring out the best. A friend is someone who can lift your spirits without saying a word. Just knowing that person is there for you is a wonderful feeling.

On Saturday night, we had to go to someone's house for dinner. I haven't seen them socially for over 12 years. The guy was the best man at our wedding but his wife was not someone we cared for and liked at all.

It's amazing how time changes people. I've grown & changed in those 12 years and so has she. She may or may not become a close friend but the possiblity is now there. She's gone to quite a lot during that time & have re-evaluated a lot of things that what was important is no longer important.

I thought it was appropriate to share this in the Friends thread. :)

My best friend is my soul mate. She's so amazing. Here's an excerpt of something she wrote in her journal once, about me, when I told her I was leaving my husband...

Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.

There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a DISTANCE.

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of or at
least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible,
not going anywhere relationships or friendships.

Observe the relationships around you. Pay close attention.
Which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage and
which ones discourage?

Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are
going downhill?

When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel worse?

Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know or appreciate you?

The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love
and truth around you...the easier it will become for you to
decide who gets to sit in the front row and who should be moved
to the balcony of your life.

Remember that the people we hang with will have an impact on
both our lives and our income.

And so, we must be careful to choose the people we hang out
with, as well as the information with which we feed our minds.

We should not share our dreams with negative people, nor feed
them with negative thoughts.
