Sort of a broad question. What do you think?

I tend to believe in the reincarnation of the soul regardless of the results of the weighing of the heart. If the Ib is eaten by Ammit, I think the other parts of the soul still go on. I know it's not really a traditional view, then again I'm not really kemetic..

This is how I see it. We have the Ka and the Ba. The Ba is eternal and reincarnates joining with a new Ka each life. The Ka goes through the judgment and either is devoured or goes on to become an Akh. :)

Hm. What I don't get is what exactly is the Ka? Which one is conciousness? I think the Ba is my higher self and the Ka is my personality traits.

This is pretty confusing. Lol.

Our Ka (to me) is pretty much our personality or who we are in this life. I like to think of our Ba as our core and our Ka as the layer that surrounds the core. The Ka can be changed and shaped as we live our lives and learn.

I'm really bad at history and mythology (that'll be the next thing I research), but is there any mention of reincarnation in Ancient Egypt?

There are mentions that the Ba will be "reborn again like Ra", which I have encountered both in a book that I have read (the name of which unfortunately escapes me) and in conversations with my Nisut (Rev. Siuda). I'll see if I can remember which book I'd read that in and get back to you, Lemon. ^_^
