Certainly I believe magick is in the mind and the tools simply are a useful point of focus, and also it could just be a fun way to express the creative artistic side of yourself and fun craft time to put your own unique twists on things etc...

Another reason I am making this post is for people who feel like they have to spend allot of money to practice what they want and my intent with this post is to help spur and provoke some thought and creativity on the subject of making your own homemade " magical tools" whatever that means personally to you.. And not only by doing this will you save money, but I think the tools you will have more pride in and have more personal meaning and significance and you won't be needlessly braking the bank.

Personally The tools I use the most is simply my home made pen with personally symbolic significance deigned into it, and latter I will go to the craft store and get those refill cartages and make my own casing entirely for the pen that has personal significance to me, and it may even double as a wand : )

Other then that I use symbols or pictograms with personal significance to keep certain things that day, week, pr month to the forefront of my consciousness…I also make personal note and flash cards etc with compact messages using symbols etc… candles to meditate and other things with personal meanings etc.. I have other things that serve as icing on the cake, but I keep it simple and piratical fro me any ways.. To me the simple things are the good things..

Below for those who are interested are some cool resources I found for friend who might be interested in designing their own tools, so please the real purpose and what I would like to hear form you guys is what do you use as tools that you have either improvised, or made home made, or ideas you have thought or heard, or books you have read that talk allot about the subject of homemaking your own tools or solely about making your own tools.

Crafting & Use Of Ritual Tools: Step-by-Step Instructions for Woodcrafting Religious & Magical Implements (Paperback)
by Eleanor & Philip Harris (Author)

If you have thought about creating your own ritual tools, whether to get away from store-bought implements or to express your creative power, The Crafting and Use of Ritual Tools contains all the information you'll need. Even if you don't know the difference between a saw and sandpaper, the simple, step-by-step instructions will teach you to make your own staves, wands, runes, and other ritual instruments. They'll hold even more power than purchased ones, because they will have been wrought by your own hands.

From Library Journal
Some modern religious groups adopt ritual practices of the past for use in their ceremonies. These sometimes involve the use of wands, ceremonial knives, rune tiles, and shamanic shields. This book, written by two woodworkers who make and sell these tools professionally, gives selection criteria for materials with instructions for carving and embellishing as well as instructions for use. There are line drawings throughout with the only photographs of finished works being those on the cover. This is a very specialized book suitable for larger New Age or occult collections.

Here are my pentacle & wand that are entirely made by me, + some amulets & talismans also made by me:

(I used gemstones, silver leaf, holographic foil, Sculpey & paper-clay.)

Actually, THAT wand is the one I gave away - let me try again for my own (it has seraphanite on it):
