Does anyone out there have information on these beautiful stones?
Magical or Mundane, I'm having trouble turning stuff up about them.

have you tried looking under "rubies?" they're pretty much the same thing.

rubies vs sapphires (http://www.palagems.com/ruby_sapphire_borders.htm)
found an interesting article, thought I'd post it here for others that may be interested.

saphires and rubies are in the same family but each color has different effects but all of them have some common things.
Although pink sapphires are usually considered the same as rubies as far as metaphysical is concerned.

ok thanks I guess for the metaphysical aspects I'll have to look there.
I didn't know they called Pink Sapphires 'female rubies' in earlier centuries, but it does make a lot of sense to me.

what lightdragon said...
one other interesting little piece of info....
one of the rarest gemstones are pink diamonds and they are sought out for high end wedding rings which are very expensive.... people now are starting to replace the pink diamonds with more affordable pink sapphires in wedding rings.

It was indeed!
there were a few days there where we weren't certain if the ring could be resized small enough for me... but in the end all was well.
