View Full Version : Is there such a thing as a star carnelian?

...Because I have a stone that a whole bunch of people INSISTED was either a star sapphire, or a star ruby, & I am positive that it is neither! It was something more unusual, I just don't remember what from back when I bought it - star carnelian sounds like the most likely thing, though. I'll post a pic when I am home (not on my own computer for a few days).

Hard to describe it - it is kinda a caramel color with slightly lilac undertones when the light strikes it; + it has a star. It was sold as a "natural" star, too.

Nah, I V'd that image & it is just WAY too pinkish - makes it look like a ruby which I KNOW it isn't. I enhanced the color, it came out lovely but NOT true to the stone.

I've never heard of one either, which is why I'm so curious to see this photo and try to figure out what the heck it is. :lol:
