A while back I talked about wanting to begin studying the Tarot. It has always felt like a daunting task..as there are many cards and many interpretations. But, I still felt like this was something I wanted to do..something I should try. After all, I love divining with my pendulum..and I have been told I have a gift for divining..so why not??!! Yesterday I went out a replaced the deck I lost when I first began this journey of mine and a Divination journal. I decided I wanted to record my learnings and my divinations to track my progress. I do not know what will happen and what I will learn but I am gonna try. So to mark that I thought I would post a little blessing for my journey, and share it with you all. I am not sure how I will go about this learning..but as I learn I will ask for feedback and help and hope you will enjoy coming with me if even for a short while.

Blessed Mother and Father of All, I ask you to bless this journey. A journey of learning, knowledge, truth and understanding. May I keep an open mind, heart, soul and body to accept the knowledge you depart upon me. Know my true intentions lay upon my heart for you to see, may I be worthy of your trust. As I say these words, So Mote It Be.

So last night I decided I wanted to pick my first card and start my studies. I was just going to pick a card I liked and start. But then I remembered what a wise person said, the tarot picks you..it teaches you, so I said why not let it tell me what card to start with. So I laid them all face down and lined them up and asked to myself which one should I pick. Just then one of the cards slid down ( I lined them up on my couch) and I said..I think this one wants to go first. It was the Sun card. ( I use the Rider- Waite deck)

I never looked at the sun card much before..it is a rather happy card to me. It speaks to me of change and growth. The child sitting on the horse speaks of being open and vulnerable to change. The suns rays look warm and inviting....allowing the growth to happen. I see flowers that look like sun flowers. I must look up any significance that sun flowers may have. I think I will meditate on the card for another day, to divine anything else it may be telling me, before I look up other interpretations.

WOW..the more I look into the meaning of the Sun card..the cooler it gets. I actually found some sites that have a story/myth to go with the cards..very cool to read. I see my first impressions and interpretations were not too far off.
The Sun card represents an accomplishment and the joy, happines and fullfillment that comes fromsuch an accomplishment, it speaks of coming to the end of obstacles and the beginning of a much happer place and time. I have also read that it reflects anincrease of something, some type of "wealth" it maybe actual money, better job, increaed health..and I even read it could mean marriage and even a baby.

The two sites where I found the most in depth information was:
http://www.salemtarot.com/tarotcard_The_Sun.html
http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/basics/sun.shtml

I can always recommend Aeclectic and Thirteen's tarot card meanings. I will have to check out the Salem Tarot link, sounds interesting. :)

I'm glad you're having such a good time with the Sun!

My next card is the Tower card......which I was not sure what to make of this card. When I was in my training circle we had to make our own decks and for the Tower card I found a picture of the Twin Towers on the day of 09/11...everyone thought it was a very fitting card. At first glance..it speaks of a shake up for lack of a better word...like everything is not how you thought it to be. The lighting and the fire speak of a violent force....a major change/transformation. When I see this card is get an uneasy feeeling.

Meanings I have discovered:
upheaval, a sudden change and disruption to the current path/journey
a sense of downfall and abandonment, ending of something you felt was important
brings a chance to find new opportunities and a new path, a breaking down of false realities

My next card...Judgement

This card is dominated by a large figure..almost like an angel..who appears to be calling out everyone...like a final curtain call...this figure looms over everyone and everything ..almost like it is giving out its final orders/decrees..
The other more small and almost less significant figures are naked..they have an exposed feeling. They have their arms out and open...like they are waiting for something..almostlike they are waiting to be handcuffed and taken away....they appear to be in coffins...so maybe the day of rekoning....awaiting their final outcome..
This card seems to be very open and easy to read....a sense of a final understanding..and final conclusion will be handed down..I have a feeling of like their destiny is set and they are waiting to find out what it is....like the path is setand the outcome certain.
