Anyone ever heard of this, and if it is indeed true, what form or religous background it may be from :O ?
Id be greatly interested in reading on it :)

I had never heard of it, so I went to Google Search and came up with lots of links. Try this one:

http://members.aol.com/starlinksr/galraedia.html

At the edge of the unconscious mind lies an Otherworld, the land of Galraedia, where shimmering myth shadows reality. These enchanted symbols, secrets of Galraedia's sacred land, hold the key to magical transformation.

All I seem to find though, is people wanting to sell jewelry, so, I am not sure if anyone else has anymore information on it. Can find anything in my World Religion Encyclopedia either. Sorry, I can't be more help.

don't take this as any definitive word but it sounds rather like a fantasty writer's idea, vaguely tolkeinish

Whos to say it cant be real though?
I like to base my mind on the fact that anything is possible.

It does sound very made up. But then again, so are fairy tales, etc.
And they had to start SOMEWHERE.
Even if it was in a dream, or done by the imagination, that does not mean it isnt real. (im gonna go on a matrix type thing here, but)
define real, If what your talking about is what you can touch, and see, then its simply electro magnetic pulses registered by the brain.
I like to think there is a whole other world out there with dragons, and unicorns, and mythical lands like Galraedia.
Then it comes back to the one simple question

Why not?
:)
Sorry, i jsut have a really active imagination :P

Barry Hugart, Sinologist and fantasy writer, says that many of the Chinese gods and goddesses came from popular novels. A character would be created that rang so true, or filled an archetype so well, that the people would simply induct her into the pantheon. We Westerners certainly do a version of that- The lands and ways of Middle Earth are so familiar to me through Tolkien's novels that it's hard to remember they never existed. William Gibson and Neil Stephenson formed a great deal of what we expect from the internet, and in fact are acheiving, Star trek's Enterprise became a reality courtesy of NASA. But it's not all good; for exmple, we confuse actors with the characters they play, and we confuse virtual reality with reality, letting flame wars on our favorit BB ruin our day... or running the risk of becoming disasterously involved with someone we've never met- D.H Lawrence, almost all by himself, created the Mid-East by way of his personal preferences which he made popular in his memoirs. On a more personal level, as an adolescent, I wanted a dragon, such as Ursula LeGuin writes of in her Earthsea series, to the point that my eyes were blinded to the beauty of the real animals around me- cats, ferrets, huskies.. Which at the least is a real waste of time.
ANYway, Galraedia soundls like a name very heavily influenced by Tolkien... Galadriel, you know. Knowing the Lord of the rings alost by heart is the kind of problem a fantasy lover has to watch out for! ;)

Just an aside here, why not.

Tolkien's Mordor was real, at least to me. The story goes that he stood on top of the Lickey Hills just outside of Birmingham, looked out over the industrial landscape that was Birmingham and the Black Country, and saw Mordor. At least this is how it was told to me by a massive Tolkien fan, as we stood on top of the Hills as dusk was setting. It left very powerful memories for me to carry to the end of my days. For that I thank, not only Tolkien and my friend, but you all for bringing it back to the front of my memory at least for a moment. ;)

In my view, Galraedia is an otherworld that is on the same plane as ours. However, it vibrates ar a higher level, so we can't see it, only sometimes, when we vibrate higher ourselves. Galraedia is another universe which is pararell to ours, and it has all the creatures in it that we think don't exist, like fairies, in ireland, that part has leprechauns, and other things. I don't really know much more than that, only that it seems very kind of magical. It exists, but how, I do not know. If you mediatate you start vibrating (your spirit or soul) higher, so you may be able to see them after a while. The world world is made up of different vibrations, in reality, nothing is solid, it only vibrates at a certain level to make it appear solid. It's freaky stuff, but their world exists within the same space as ours, it only vibrates at a higher level. When people think that they see ghosts or something, they may be seeing the creatures of Galraedia. Well, that's just something to think about, I'm fascinated with the subject myself.

GALRAEDIA

At the edge of the unconscious mind lies an other world, the LAND OF GALRAEDIA, where shimmering myth shadows reality.

In the center of the land of Gagraedia, deep in slumber, lay the young prince Ivan. Being fifteen the prince was nearing the end of his training to become a knight in his father’s army, king Rago. In the dead of night came a roar that shook the walls of the ancient castle, and instantly awoke the sleeping knights. “ What happened Goliath”? Bellowed the proud voice of king Rago “it came from the bad lands my lord” yelled Goliath. By the time the prince had reached the courtyard the entire inhabitance of the castle had turned up. A great looming shodow had engulfed the castle, with a great gust that chilled the bones and cooled the blood. Suddenly a huge beast emerged from the bellowing cloud over the Bad Lands, the prince and all his subjects stared astounded.
