O my Lord and my Beloved,

You have told us that is appointed for man to die. Our flesh is destined to return to the soil that brings us life; death and life are interconnected eternally. So it is, and so mote it be.

Now you call me to tread those hills of my childhood once again. You have smiled with favor upon an old man of the mountains, my grandfather, and have sent the call. His time left walking among our valleys may be short, I fear. His time may be nigh, in accordance with the will of the Father. Dearest Lord, cherished Mother, may the two of you be with me now. Hold me in the Spirit, walk with me again. Grant to me and through me the enigmatic Peace and Love, as I walk again in my mind upon the old hills and valleys. My kin calls; you send them to beckon me home. So it is, and so mote it be.

Prepare the way for your servant, the old man of the mountains. He has taught his children well. Give him rest, let him stay with you on his journey over the mountain. Guide us all to live by his example, and by your most Perfect example.

So it is.
So mote it be.

O my Lord and my Beloved,

Thank you for the energies of kith and kin, giving rest to my weary soul. Grant me patience in this time. Let me contemplate the eternal chain of life. From ash to ash, from dust to dust, life makes a circle that encompasses us all. We are links in that chain; our circles hold the others before and after us.

*stands on the hillside, feeling the wind about him, watching the chain link fence rock gently in the breeze*

My Lord and my Beloved,

Thank you for the insight into my soul, in the midst of the dark hour. I am my mother's child, the son of the land. You have given me the land to possess, and yet it possesses me. Omne solum forti patria.

May the one I love be at peace. May she know that she is loved, and that she is wonderful. May she be given what she needs in abundant measure, to the benefit of all concerned.

Illumine my path, be at my side. Help me to fulfill the promise of who I am, to the pride of those who came before.

Amen, and so mote it be.
