I have been "hearing" what sounds like a "transistor" radio...(I used to have a small am radio when I was a kid). At first I thought it was my teenagers just listening to music, but it wasn't them. I hear it in different rooms in the house and at different times during the day. I can't make out what is playing but I can tell that it is music.
So far I'm the only one that is hearing it. Ghost or my imagination?

could very well be a ghost trying to manifest itself that way, I have heard some stories of the like, start keeping track of times you hear it and where and if you can make out what song it is playing
then start looking for a pattern or a reason
I once heard what sounded like a choir during certain times of the day only to find out to my disappointment it was a choir from a nearby church practicing :awilly:

Yes, that sounds just like what a ghost would do. (They are experts at imitating familiar sounds) Try to figure out what else it could be, however, if anything starts to escalate (More noises, things flying about.) Then you got a ghost and I would recommend consulting a reputable paranormal investigator.

Someone suggested that this may be happening because of unrest in the home. We've all been fighting more lately.
I guess Opal isn't happy. (that is the lady that used to live here....I'm assuming it is her!)

I would set up a digital recorder and see if you can catch anything.

my ex's family used to hear something similar in one room of the house.
I knew it was legitamite because his mother approached me one day about it and I knew I was the only person my ex had ever told.
Even his 4 year old nephew mentioned hearing voices in that room.
but you should certainly look into other causes especially if you're the only one hearing it.
sometimes stuff like that is a symptom of mild mental illnesses or an over active imagination.
trying to document it on tape and recording the times that you're hearing it (and what you were doing) in a journal might help you understand what it is (be it from within or without).

Update:
My husband came to me the other day and kept asking me if I hear a radio....this time I did not but he described it the same way - a radio playing music but he couldn't make out the tune.
Earlier in the week my daughter came to me with the same description.
Both times, I did not hear anything and no music/tv/video games were on in the house. Also, we live out in the middle of nowhere (so it wasn't noises from outside)
I normally hear it whenever there is a fight in the house. When they came to me and said that they were hearing a "radio" no one was fighting and in fact, most of the rest of the family were not home (five people normally in the house.)
Makes me wonder......

have you looked into poltergeist activity? Maybe a subconscious manifestation set off by someone in your family that's hurting as a result of the fights (not necessarily during the fights)? Acording to things I've read on the subject, teen/pre-teen girls seem strongly linked to such things, or maybe Opal just wants to turn up her music to block out every one else.

1) are you in a house or an apartment
2) are your neighbours homes close to yourse
3) Is there a good echo quality in the air around your home. (If you should HEY! is there a residual sound)
Chances are you're picking up the sound from somewhere outside but I recommend taking an IC recorder throughout the house and asking questions, leaving it in a room for awhile to see if you pick anything up etc.
