I'm looking for info on this that is sane sensible and balanced.
I found one website, but it was too scattered. I'm looking for key words, phrases. and a way to consider it in signs and houses.:lookwhats
I also saw that it was the "new" ruler of Virgo, any insight would be helpful!
Thanks

Chiron being the lord of Virgo is a modern interpretation by one or two authors and is not accepted by all astrologers. I've read why they think that and while there may be something to their opinion, it is just that.
As far as good Chiron info, I've found very little that's not new age fluff. I'm very interested in it (it's conjunct my Sun) so I've paid special attention to it in a lot of charts. In my experience it helps to remember that Chiron represents the soul wound - that (often) psychological injury that rests in our shadow self. In non-psych speak, this means it represents a weakness in ourselves we don't like to admit or acknowledge that happened often when we were young. The house and sign tell you where it is in the person and the aspects how it will express itself.
For example, someone with Chiron in Gemini (most of the kids born in the 1980's) will have their wound in the area of communication and learning; if in the third house could represent a learning disability or problems speaking; the 11th being outcast from friends because of the way they talk. An square to somthing like Mars might link to hyperactivity; to Saturn inability to make small talk; to the Moon, shy about talking about their feelings (or even not acknowledging their feelings!)

would you treat it as an asteroid or a full-blown planet as far as orb is concerned?

Thank you KEishin,
I did notice that the websites that had it were pretty badly written and just not easy to follow. Have you seen Barbara Hand Clow's book on Chiron? How is it? Worth the $$?

I would recommend Melanie Reinhart's book, Chiron & the Healing Journey, or Zane Stein's website at www.zanestein.com. You're likely to find Clow's book even more "scattered" since she channeled most of the info in it. ;)
Also good is Kelly Lee Phipp's Celestial Renaissance. He too initially thought Chiron would rule Virgo, but has gone back to traditional rulerships since he wrote that book. Even so though, he makes a good case for an affinity between Chiron & Virgo.
I too have Chiron conjunct my Sun (waves to Keishin!), but my Sun is in Aries while Chiron is in Taurus. :)

I saw the Zane Stein website and I was NOT impressed. Too many key words and they seemed to conflict with one another, plus the rest of the writing was badly in need of the services of a good editor!
Powells is supposed to notify me when they get a copy of the Rheinhart book . I really wish I could get a look at it before I bought it, in case it to is all fluffy goofy.

Somehow I don't see Reinhart as fluffy goofy.

Interesting, as the bulk of research done on Chiron has been done by him. I'm curious what parts you felt were "contradictory". Chiron itself is an archetype of contradictions, for example "the wounded healer." LOL
