Merry meet all!
Recently I discovered a place in my town where they do hypnosis and regression. I want to go there and try to learn something about my past lives. I'm only a bit afraid. What should I watch out for when I go there? What should I ask them to make sure they're not some cheats or something worse? Any safety tips?

Hmm I don't know. You have more guts then me, I wouldn't do a regression with strangers. Good luck!

wish I knew some good questions for you to ask them, but I don't. However you'd might check to see if some other people have heard of them, and what their opinion is on them, and I guess also see if they are sort of "licensed" to do this kind of work :) Go with your instinct too, if it doesn't feel right don't do it. :)

Possibly there's some sort of regulatory or accreditation board in your state. I'd start by looking on the web. Another option would be to check with the Better Business Bureau.

Your already asking all the right questions..
I agree with everyone here, try and do some research on them and then trust your inner instincts.

I'm not that brave, I just don't know anyone who could help me in regression, so when I found this place I thought I might try ...
I'm still not sure what to do, the place is in the city center, and looks decent, they also do tarot readings and other stuff. Anyway, I don't have the money right now, so the problem temporarily stopped existing ;)

Forgot in previous post.....did you ask where they trained? You could call that organization and verify it.....

There are many people in my pagan community who do things like this for a donation, if money's a problem maybe you could seek something like that out.

I read an article on this before,

it presented both sides,

I guess the main thing to be careful of is that whoever is doing the Hyptnotising is not planting anything in your mind that could bring out any false memories... this has happened,,

you may wish to take a pocket tape recorder, (like ones used in colledge) for your own protection! you should always take safety measeures when you open up your subconscience to anyone!

this way you can listen to it and see for yourself,, sometimes you can pick out "plants" from genuine memories...

Hope this helps

make sure they know you are recording, unless its legal to record someone without their knowledge where you are.

Hypnotherapists are licensed by law in most states and provences....they are regulated by the same agencies that license psychologists and social workers. All the above people have given you great advise that I would follow. BB :sunny:

if after everything here that has been suggested and you decide to go, and maybe still aren't extremely comfortable...take a friend to watch and make sure nothing is going on that isn't appropriate

Thanks everyone, I've decided to wait a bit, I'm too scared now. I've also read about false memories and stuff like that and this may be a too dangerous thing to do just out of curiosity. But I'll remember the advice you've given me, it's really helpful:)
