One thing I love about Dianic witchcraft is how palpable the Goddess is, how immanent the Sacred is, and I think even in watching the first video so far you can see it alight in Z so well it's beautiful. I just watch her eyes light up and the joy people were feeling as they danced and remember why spirituality calls to me in the first place.

The excesses of one movement often give rise to the excesses of the counter-movement. As much as I respect Budapest's work and spirituality, I think it lacks the balance that is necessary. While Jesus was far from a misogynist, his focus on the masculine principle and a male priesthood gave rise to a Church that oppressed women. Likewise, I don't think Z. Budapest dislikes men, but the focus on the Goddess and a female priesthood can only give rise to the denigration of males in the long run.

Sad that a person's work "can only give rise to" such things despite hundreds who find it worthwhile, meaningful, and life-changing, and one whacko who posts a comment. There are enough Goddess oriented witches out there who don't hate men to convince me otherwise, in particular me.

Still, I fear such discussion will soon reach the borders of the special rule in any Path forum (http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=113890) -

I suggest if you are questioning another Path's principles then you do it in a more proper environment, such as the theology forum.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to go off-topic. I was watching the videos, which I found interesting, but as I was watching them, I was just struck by the comment. I think taken with some of her comments in the video, it just showed to me the potential for extremism, though I'll agree the word "only" was rather a poor choice on my part.
