Three friends have died this week. I need a hug.

Old Roy died on Thursday from emphisema. He used to come down to the pub every day and I'd sit and chat to him. He was not that close to me, but he was a good person, and wonderful to talk to and full of knowledge. I liked him a lot. But he lived a good life, and I believe that it was his time to go. He was old, and we had all prepared for it.

Then on Sunday, I found out that my good friend Jerry had been murdered in Soweto during a mugging. It gutted me, and I still haven't got over the fact that someone so good and kind and loving, someone who was such a pillar of strength for the whole community could have been killed like that. He didn't deserve to die that way.

And now I just found out that Muriel, the closest person I had to a grandmother, was also murdered on Saturday on her farm. They broke into her home and robbed her, and killed her. She was 73. She wasn't a threat to anyone. She was a good dynamic woman, and she was so full of life. And they stabbed her. They just stabbed her with a spear.

It's just hitting down on me. One after the other, it's too much. I've never had to deal with so much death in such a short space of time. Warren died a few months ago in a car accident... it's too much for one year.

I just need a hug. :(

:hugz: Thank you everyone. You're very kind. I'm feeling much better. Life goes on, I guess, you can't put it on hold for long.

I tend to alternate now between numb and angry, coupled with disbelief that means I can't associate my memories of them alive with the thoughts of them dead. I know the facts, and I keep seeing their deaths in my mind, but it seems like some sick nightmare or something. It doesn't seem real. I can't see how something like that could have happened.

And the scary thing is how much I want revenge. I want those bastards who killed them to suffer. It's not the way I usually act or think. I never want to hurt anyone, but if I could, I would make their lives hell. I know it won't bring Jerry and Muriel back. I've wanted to do some sort of ritual or spell to hurt them, because I know the cops won't find them. But obviously I can't.

I just feel so helpless.
