Which of the court cards is the perfect match for the Queen of Cups? I am curious as to what everyone's opinions would be, as well as to the reasons why, whether it be astrological attributions, personal experiences, etc.

I'm going to go with the King of Pentacles.
King of Swords - too practical vs. emotional. Will be too dismissive & not understanding enough of her feelings. Too distant.
King of Cups - too similar! Can be a very understanding and loving person, but will feed into the drama of her emotions too much.
King of Wands - too self-centered. He'll be worried about work & other things and not pay enough attention to her. He may be very attractive at first, and passionate, but what happens when that fire dies down into coals?
King of Pentacles - IMO, just right. Practical enough to point out the flaws in her overly-emotional thinking, compassionate enough to do it with tact, grounded enough to keep her from floating away.
It may not be an exciting marriage all the time, but it will be a lasting one, I think. :)

YAY! Thanks for chiming in here. I KNOW you know your cards. I also happen to know of a Leo-Cancer marriage of the King of Disks and the Queen of Cups of very long duration.
King of Swords - too practical vs. emotional. Will be too dismissive & not understanding enough of her feelings. Too distant.
Also, the King of Swords operates by attack, which would only drive the Cancerian Queen of Cups into her shell for a couple of months, until it is safe to come out again. This relationship is like poking at a turtle with a stick.
King of Cups - too similar! Can be a very understanding and loving person, but will feed into the drama of her emotions too much.
Can you say codepedence boys and girls?
King of Wands - too self-centered. He'll be worried about work & other things and not pay enough attention to her. He may be very attractive at first, and passionate, but what happens when that fire dies down into coals?
Plus, the King of Wands can't change his plans on a dime. That will not mesh well at all with the changable moods of the Queen of Cups.
King of Pentacles - IMO, just right. Practical enough to point out the flaws in her overly-emotional thinking, compassionate enough to do it with tact, grounded enough to keep her from floating away.
I agree he will keep her grounded. Also, the Queen of Cups MUST have stability in her home. She doesn't deal well with power being turned off or bills not being paid. This King will make sure those comforts are always there, which will keep the Queen from going off the deep end.
It may not be an exciting marriage all the time, but it will be a lasting one, I think. :)
I agree. Shall we do another?

I was going to say King of Pentacles as well. His earth will absorb her water, and her water will nourish his earth.

Woot! More more! That was fun. :) It would also be interesting to see if anyone disagreed and chose another King & why. Anyone care to play Devil's Advocate?

I sure hope so. I am interested to hear the opinions of others in this, as well as their reasoning. It gives me different perspectives.

I would love to see some disagreement here, but the Queen of Cups and the King of Pentacles are just too obvious to me to be the Devil's Advocate.
How about a Queen of Swords? What's her best match?

Ohhh goody! Should we start a new thread, or can I change the topic of this thread to cover all court matches? I would also like to eventually discuss the worse mismatches of the courts. I have one in particluar that I recently lived.

I can have the topic changed if you like. Then I think a 2nd thread for worst matches would be good. :)
What would you like the thread title to be? Matchmaking the Courts? LOL

So far IMO the best match for this Queen is herself!

I'm having a hard time thinking about who would be the best match for the Queen of Swords. She and a King of Swords would just end up butting heads! The King of Cups would be too fluid for her, his emotions would just piss her off.

I'll agree that the Queen of Cups and the King of Pentacles go well together. :)
Also Queen of Pentacles and King of Cups.
He'll never let her feel like she does everything,
but support her in all she does.
(it's odd, my sweetheart and I seem to rotate through court cards, we're always complimentary to each other though).

Whatever you think is best is fine with me. I tried to edit it, but couldn't, so I am just happy that you can.

I say the Prince of Wands. He can be volatile for sure, but her natural ability to point out what's just and fair, would keep him, not in his place, but from getting out of hand with her. His impulsiveness would serve to get her out of her head (and into the bed). I think she would appreciate his element of surprise intellectually, which would turn her on. They could talk for hours on end about all sides of any issue. It would be difficult for her to be cold around him.

I don't believe this. I talked to a friend of mine last night, who is a Cancer, but by her birthday, she is actually the Knight of Wands. As it turns out, her fiance is the Queen of Swords by his birthday! I read the above thread to her.
