I just came across this book on amazon.com, it's called 'Shamanic Christianity: The Direct Experience of Mystical Communion' by Bradford Keeney (http://www.amazon.com/Shamanic-Christianity-Experience-Mystical-Communion/dp/1594770867).

It seems quite cool, from the description I've read. I'm not sure what opinion you'd have of it (or if you've read it), but I think it would be quite a good thing if more Christians could turn to the more ecstatic(sp?) elements of their religion.

Anyway, just wanted to post it and get your opinions on it.

I haven't heard of the book, but I feel Shamanism is a good thing to bring into a person's spirituality.

I've never heard of such a book. But it seens that it would present a lot of problems when it came to blending christanity and shamanism.

Very nice, I'd love to read this. I believe that my kind of Catholicism (accompanied by Mexican Folk Magick) is deeply entrenched in Shamanism. Heck, you can call Jesus a shaman or a witch if you want, the man was able to talk with God, heal people, and turn water into wine. So does Christianity really not mix with Shamanism or Paganism, period? I don't think so. I don't think what the authors of the bible have to say about what Jesus said, has any influence over the obvious, very Shamanistic qualities of Jesus Himself.

Great suggestion!
