View Full Version : Chasca?

I looked through a list of deities last night from all sorts of different cultures and allowed myself to pause on each one for a moment and then move on. However, one Goddess' name stuck in my head, and I paused on Her name for longer than the others. Even if I tried to move on, Her name was still in my head, as if saying "No! Go back and look at me!" Her name is Chasca, and She is an Incan Goddess.

However, much to my dismay, I cannot find much information about Her at all, apart from that She is likened to Venus, is the Goddess of dawn and twilight, and the protector of young women and virgin girls. Unfortunately, much of the information about the Incas was burned in the Spanish conquest of Peru.

Has anyone else heard of this Goddess/have any information on Her? I have searched for hours with no results. :( And suggestions on what to do? Thanks in advance. hehe.

I ran into a similar situation with a Gallic goddess and just up and meditated with her....I found her lurking around, despite the lack of modern day information or attention. Sometimes, you just need a jumping off point rather than a full manual. Try meditating on her name at dawn or twilight and see what happens.

Thank you very much for replying! I'll try that. :) I don't want to ignore Her. I tried and it's not easy. 8O

The only other thing I could find is that she may have had a husband called Chasca-Coyllur. There also may be a cloud connection as well.
