What resources are there to form a new coven/study group/community for pagans? A few solitary practioners in my town are getting together later in June to meet and hopefully form a community together. Since many of us have practiced alone, we are uncertain of how to go about it. It's going to be a learning experience for all of us! If you have experience with this, or could share your wisdom, it would be appreciated!

I am solitary so I haven't been in your position. But I have heard here that many people recommend reading Covencraft : Witchcraft for Three or More by Amber K.
Here's a link to amazon with some reviews:

Hope this helps!

I've read that book and it helps a lot. :D I'm also beginning a group in my area and have an MSN Community for it in the making. That book has things to watch for and possible things for you and your group to do.
I highly recommend CovenCraft by Amber K. Since I've read it, I know it works for at least me. A lot of my friends have also read it and consider it a good book for beginning covens, groups, communities, and whatever else.
The thing about a coven is that a lot of people tend to think of them as too political. I believe it doesn't have to be that way. Sure, opinions may differ and energies might conflict at first, but it's a growing experience for everyone involved. I loved working with a group at college so I started one in my home town. :)
I hope this works out for you. Good luck! :D:D

Looks like I'll be picking up a copy of Covencraft!! Thanks for all the advice! The first meeting is coming up soon and, even though I am not organizing it, I wanted to check and see what I might be getting myself in for. I'm excited, but nervous!
