a little while back, i came here asking for advice because i was thinking about joining the clergy but feeling very lost and confused about it. i appreciate all the great advice i recieved and how helpful and friendly everyone has been, and i think i've followed every suggestion i recieved because they were all really good. in particular, the following developments have taken place after a LOT of prayer, soul searching, and talking to everyone i could think of:
1) i stopped being afraid of being "tied down" to a tradition and have started training to become a Wiccan priestess of the Corellian tradition. i feel extremely good about this and, even though my training won't be finished for months, i am very excited about eventually having a congregation of some sort.
2) i haven't yet found a "circle", as someone suggested, but i discovered that some younger girls who live near me are really interested in Wicca, and i have sort of taken them under my wing, setting them straight about some of the misconceptions they got from watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and teaching them what i have learned so far.
so i wanted to update all the people who have helped me and say thanks, but i also have a few more questions:
in addition to the program that my teacher in Correlian Wicca has laid out for me, i have decided to come up with my own training regimen. i want this to include some sort of community service or charity work. now, i always felt that our lives should involve little acts of charity; i am already part of a local recycling program, i already take care of wild animals, i already make donations of food, clothing and money to open pantries and Goodwill and such. but i want to do something more, something really special. does anyone have any suggestions?
also, i want to know what other skills i should be trying to acquire and other things i should be studying that would help me as a priestess but aren't directly part of my training.
finally, i have heard that some priestesses go through sort of a trial by fire before they become ordained. does anyone have any thoughts on this?
