Perhaps I thought of these cards after Run With Wolvez asked about Native American tarot cards. These cards aren't tarot cards, but people can use them for divination purposes. There are 48 cards in this deck. On each deck, there is a picture of a different animal. On the back of each card, the author gives the symbolic meaning for each animal. For example, the bear supposedly represents healing. Thus, if you draw this card, perhaps a time of healing may come to you after turbulent times. Has anyone by chance used these cards? Susan Seddon Boulet did the artwork for the cards, and I think that they look lovely.
Here are some links that show you pictures of these cards.

I've seen these at some fairs I attended and have considered buying the deck several times. A friend of mine uses them and gave me wonderful reading.

Those are really beautiful! They remind me of His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. In those books, peoples souls, emotions, spirit, take the shape of a sort of pet that changes shape alot before puberty.

Yes, I have seen those cards, they are quite lovely. If you wish to purchase anything by Susan Seddon, here's a great site for her artwork and other materials.

I agree, jelly.belly. The artist, Susan Seddon Boulet, does such a good work. I find her drawings to have a mystical feel to them. I like these cards, because they deal with using animals for the purpose of divination. Besides these animal spirit cards, she also does goddess cards.

Yes I'm a big fan! Ive got 2 boxes of her greeting cards (they are blank on the inside) and send them out to my pagan friends :)
I love her goddess cards too!
Ive never seen these before though and they are really amazing! I love the seahorse (one of my favourite animals).
I think Ill have to indulge and get some! :D
Thanks

I was so impressed with the cards that I ordered them. I just got them and the artwork is gorgeous. The only problem I have with them is the interpretations. It is a little unbalanced. There is only one card with negative attributes even though there are many cards and animals which could have dark symbolism. How can you do any soul searching without knowing what you are doing wrong? I think just using reversal is diluted. I still love them and I have given myself a project. I am going to get a small notebook and do my own interpretation supplements. I also would like to blurb about the animals life habits as well. Nothing to indepth but a little note of how they live: are they social or solitary, hunters or vegitarians, etc.

Your project sounds interesting, Storm. Even though you say that the cards don't have dark symbolism, I think that you can still analyze them for you own situations. For example, you draw card, and the card represents tranquility. Well, perhaps there is a situation in your life that is/will not go as peacefully as you planned. You can use the card as guidance. Also, perhaps you can make your own interpretations for the cards, kind of like what some people do with tarot. Follow your heart. What is you inner feeling telling you to do?

Would these be oracle cards. Do oracle cards use different spreads? suggestions are welcome.

Maybe Ms. Freyja knows, since she said that her friend uses them for readings. Perhaps if you get good at interpreting the cards, you can use them just as you would use oracle cards.
