Intuitive Tarot

This class will be designed so that you can find your own meanings for the cards, and developing your own method for reading without having to look at a book.

Outline:

Class 1a: Introductions
Class 1b: Introducing the Tarot deck
Class 2: Getting to know the cards
Class 3: Card pairs
Class 4: Spreads
Class 5: Pulling it together
Class 6: Practice readings and GRADUATION!

You will need a Tarot deck. I will be teaching based on Rider-Waite style decks, with VIII as Strength and XI as Justice, though any deck will do. This is more about YOUR meanings for the cards than mine, and about learning from each other, not just from me.

You will also need some way to keep a journal. This can be offline, on paper, or online somehow. I don't care how you do it, but a journal is VERY important for learning Tarot.

I also recommend that you get the Orphalese Tarot program. You can find it here: http://www.orphalese.net/ You can get a tryout version for FREE (I love free) You are limited to three decks with the tryout version, which is plenty. The full version allows you to import as many decks as you want. Why do I recommend this program? Because you can shuffle, sort, and manipulate the cards much like using a real deck. You can change decks instantly, which is very handy for comparative readings. And you can take screen shots of your readings to save for future study. I will be using the program to post demo readings for the class. Again, I only recommend this, it is not a requirement and you will NOT need it for the class.

To pass the class you will need to participate. I am not going to give a minimum participation level, as some might participate only that much just to pass (hey, I'm in college, I know the game!!!) By participation, I expect active responses to threads, as well as active participation in readings. All students will be reading for other students. You won't learn if you don't practice.

Just a quick note, the syllabus is subject to change :) This is a rough outline, but as I review notes, I'm modifying things just a bit!
