Hey everyone, a few weeks ago, Silver Venus started a thread about sky divination, and it really interested me! I kinda started to look a little more at the sky, to see if i could see anything! :D

Today, my friends and i were outside and then one of them told us to look at the sky, so we looked up and there was this circle around the sun, kinda like a rainbow, and we started wondering about it. And then i realized how much i didn't know about this stuff, my friend told me it meant something, but she couldn't remember... Does anyone know? And do you guys know any books or websites who talk about this kind of thing? I think it's really intriguing and thought I'd ask if anyone knew here! Thanks! :D

It's called a corona and it means there's light rays bouncing off water vapour (much like a rainbow) I believe. I could be wrong, but for some reason I remember learning that somewhere.
That's the scientific answer anyways ;).
As for what it means in a more metaphysical sense... I have no clue, although I am interested now.

Rainbows also have significance to the Norse - the runes are Odin's stepping stones for moving across the "rainbow bridge," going up to Asgard and becoming one of the gods.

Immediately following a full moon ritual once, I saw a white beam in the form of a rainbow arching across the moon.....it was awesome.......
