Darkest Eve's pregnancy thread...

I'm taking a cue from some of the other moms on here and starting my own thread. :) I'd like to keep track of how things go!

We've had kind of a rocky start...and right now are more or less being treated as 'high-risk' because I had an E. coli infection that had to be treated (class B antibiotics, so it shouldn't be harmful)... but anything like that is never good in the first few weeks.

I've already had 2 ultrasounds - the first at approximately 4 weeks, and the 2nd at 5 weeks. In the first ultrasound, they didn't see anything which had us completely stressed. In the 2nd, at 5 weeks, they did see the gestational sac, which made everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

At 4 weeks the Hcg levels were approx 440, and at 5 weeks they were at 3400, so the doc said that was good too.

I have the last of my series of appointments with the family practitioner tomorrow.

After that, I'll be scheduling with the OBGYN, and hopefully we'll get yet another ultrasound to make sure the little guy or gal is growing. :p

Ive just gone through a pregnancy from hell, but I am almost done.

I do think we know too soon that we are pregnant. I have gone through 6 miscarriages, and during that time of diaster I leanrned a lot. it does have some advantages to knowing right away but emotionaly I am not so sure it's a good thing.

Things seem really good and on track for you so enjoy it and don't focus on the what if's.

Had another doctor's appt yesterday. The infection is gone, and so far everything looks fine.

I have my first OB appt 10/3 and the scheduled an ultrasound that day too, since I should be about 8 weeks then, and should be able to see the 'bean'. :)

Been a bit since I was on here! :)

Everything is going well. Had an appointment last week, and saw baby's heartbeat. Next appt is end of October/beginning of November (haven't scheduled it yet since I'm getting ready to move) for the 12 week checkup. If we opt for the 12 week testing, we may get another ultrasound then... whoo!

Wow... haven't been here in awhile apparently!

Next appt is the u/s in December - we'll get to find out what the baby is. :)

Nothing new, except being tired all the time. As of the last checkup, hadn't gained any weight, though I expect that has changed by now. Baby's heartrate was 155 at the last checkup.

Just found your posting. I know things were rocky a the beginning, but they sound like they're going well now, except for the tiredness. I've never had the blessing of being pregnant, but from watching all my sisters and friends, I hear that's really normal. Congratulations to you!! May will be a lovely time to have a new baby, don't you think?

She does look like her daddy. :) She has features from both of us, but his are more prominent it seems. Poor kid has my long alien fingers and toes though. :lol:

We had our first pediatrician visit today!

Aleks weighs 8 lbs 10 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. She's perfect. :) Doctor said she's healthy as she can be and we don't have to go back until 2 months... when she gets her shots. (Poor baby!)
