Hey all!
I stumbled on a book my Silver Ravenwolf that deals with doing angel magick. Since there are no real coincidences I picked up the book and have been reading it, it is very interesting
My question to ya'll is, have any of you ever done any angel magick? Meaning using your guardian angel, or the Angels of the Zodiac to assisst you in your magick, or meditation.
If you have let me know how things have worked out for you, and how you've gone about setting up the altar and such. One thing I don't like is a lot of elaborate rituals and stuff like that, they drive me bonkers! Anyway, what kind of simple blessing did you use to devote your alter?
You can either respond to me in a pm or on this thread, thanks again.
Thus far, I've found this to be particurally rewarding, refreshing and peaceful.

Yes I have the same book so I've done some of the exercises and had an altar. I don't remember the blessing I used.

I don't either. In fact I very rarely use my altar.
As far as asking for help in casting, or other. I have a very open relationship with the angel near me. He helps, in most cases, without being asked. He has been near me from the time I was a child. So I can not help with how to bring them to you. He says, just ask. Now, whether this is all in my head, I still question, along with other things that happen. (smile)
I read the book you mentioned and found it interesting. I just have a hard time with organized religion in any form. That includes wicca. I would say, pick out what sounds good to you, and use it. Good luck!

Yes, prior to finding my current path I used the Angel Oracle by Ambika Wauters to work with angels. I also know some practicing Wiccans who use the archangels to guard their circles.

I found that while reading SRW's Angels was interesting, it was even more interesting to combine those ideas with those in Ask Your Angels by Alma Daniel et.al. Ask Your Angels goes in-depth with getting to know yourself and your guardian (or companion) angel. I read that first, then I read SRW's Angels. I found knowing my companion helped me a lot in interpreting and trying things SRW suggested.
I made the Angel runes in her divination section in that book. I would highly recommend them. Thier method and response is... unique. An experience in itself, and quite comprehensive! :)
...Would love to talk more on the subject if you would (PM me if you're interested!)

There's an angel ritual in another of SRW's books, To Light a Sacred Flame, which I tried once. It was really lovely; I felt so peaceful and secure both during the ritual and after it.

That really sounds interesting, but i presently don't have any access to that sort of book. As a mater of fact i've been wanting to learn angel magick for the past several months. If anyone could give me a link or post online instructions on how to do it i would be very thankful.

**Ponders**
I'm not sure what kind of majick is in SRW's books. . . though, I would imagine at least some of her source material is Qaballah, if anyone wants to look up that stuff directly. Some of it is pretty heavy, though. . . angels are traditionally much more powerful and temperamental than the cherubs people tend to think of nowadays.
