Programming crystals?

When I program a crystal I hold it in my hand to feel its energies, then I hold it to my third eye and state what purpose I wish the stone to do. This has worked for me well for a pretty long time.

This morning, I programmed some malachite. When I help it to my third eye, I actually fel woozy and a bit disoriented. The purpose of the programming was highly emotional. Could that be why I felt so odd? Or am I doing something wrong? Or just odd? :p

The stone feels "good" to me now and I have no problem holding it.

Any ideas?

Probably just because it was an emotional thing. Maybe it really took to the charging and took more energy then you expected? Or maybe something has made you a little stressed out and that's made your energies a bit off? :)

I think you are right on both accounts. To say I have been stressed and my energy is off, well, that is an understatement. Combined with the emotional purpose of the programming, I guess it should have been expected. I should have grounded and centered before I did that. Normally I don't and never had a problem, but under the circumstances, I should have. Live and learn. :)

I've been programming my crystals with Reiki energy, so that it's presence with that person will consistently give them Reiki energy. I gave one to someone who was ill and he told me that he experienced good results.....

I've experienced similar things with stones before, and it always seems linked to heavily emotional causes for me.
