while at work today, someone brought in a 5 week old lynx point kitten, he had been running around a busy street near the store, and had almost been hit. I took him and fed him, he ate half a can of kitten food right away. he's thin, but should be fine in a few days. He's really affectionate. He's such a little guy, I bought him a ferret collar so he could wear a bell, its as small as it gets, and its still a bit big on him! He needs a name, I was thinking of naming him after Radar's teddy bear (from MASH), but apparantly the bear had no name, so I need a new idea. He's such a doll, I'm fostering him for the rescue... Lynx points are pretty popular, so he should have no trouble getting adopted once he's old enough. He's sitting on my shoulder now, playing with my hair. I took some pictures of him, but they need to be edited, I'll try to post one tomorrow once I've gotten the chance to do that. He's a cutie!

Awww....good luck with him. If you want to give him a name thats related to that what about Teddy? Or maybe Walter? I am not really fond of that name but is was Radar's "real" name.....or maybe O'Riley? or just Riley?
I am sure you will think of something and good luck finding him a new home too.

i don't need to do a related name, i just thought it would be cute... All of my name ideas are for litters, and are themed, and i don't reuse names, so picking something isn't easy for a single cat.

My mom thinks he should be Mowgli, because the special edition of the Jungle Book is coming out soon, and he's not a Baloo, or a Baghira (I know I'm butchering the names).

thanks, WJ. He's old enough so I don't think we'll have any problems with him. He's got a bit of a goopy eye, but thats easily treatable, and he has worms, so he will need to be dewormed, but other than that, he appears healthy. He's got a great appetite, and he's very affectionate. I think he understands that he's not going back in the streets. Yesterday after I had him for an hour or so, he looked up at me, like he was saying "Okay, I'm ready to go back out there now!". Now he's all purr. He still needs a bath, he's gonna totally hate me for that!

He looks allot like Spirit did when shr was little. He may get a little darker as he gets older.... keep that in mind when you name him.
Good Luck! :)

oh, i know he'll get darker... Tibet was mostly light like him when we found her, and now she's mostly brown. I think we picked Conan, after Arthur Conan Doyle, and also Conan the Barbarian. I'm a big Sherlock Holmes nerd. So is my dad, and my dad also likes comic books, so the name works for that... This little guy loves books, so I figured he needed to be named after an author. Have to pick a name that my dad will like, my dad doesn't know he's here, he'll meet him eventually....

another cute name for him could be pookha (also spelled pukha) which means 'hole' in hawaiin and is also the name of the demon horses in ireland. i think it means something in russian too, but i'm not sure what.

my dad found out about him, lol. I was planning on telling him tomorrow. I guess he came in my room, looking for me earlier when i wasn't home, and saw Conan (thankfully he didn't look over and see the rats!). He's not upset except that we didn't tell him. My dad never wants to hear rescue stories because it bothers him that people would put these animals in horrible situations in the first place, so we just stopped telling him about fosters. Anyways, Conan is biting me, its playtime for him, bedtime for me...
