Hi all,
I'm so glad to of found this place! I was feeling so alone.
I'm a 22 year old chick from Melbourne, Australia. I was born in the countryside, about 2 hours away from the city and even when I was young, I can remember having a sense of an affinity with nature and animals.
Let's just say I was put onto Paganism by a lovely man who made me feel amazingly healed from his presence. At the time I couldn't understand why I felt healed and then a Pagan friend explained to me that he must be a Shaman. From that moment on, I began to beleive. Its not that I didn't beleive in the Earth and Nature before, it's just the word for what I felt I hadn't discovered yet and it was lying dormant in me.
I was given a book called 'Pagan Paths' by a friend and it all seemed to click into place. Everything made sense and I felt like I was' Coming Home' ; I felt all things the book said.
Suddenly I felt calm and confident; the knowledge of like minded people out there made me feel powerful and special. I had always believed in the Earth and a natural life force, and now I had a name for it. I only shared my self-discovery with a couple of people who fortunately understood.
I have Celtic ancestry which I am very proud of and feel a strong connection with it. I am proud to wear my Celtic birth symbol necklace.
I don't do any spells or anything (do I have to?) but I sort of feel stifled by my beliefs because of where I live; I can't discuss them with anyone openly because of the bad stigma. But it's also nice in a way; it makes it extra special and my own little private, 'underground' faith which brings a smile to my face. It's even helping me battle my long-spanning depression.
Goddesses are beautiful and I yearn to know more about them - where do I start? Do I have to worship one? Is there some definitive Pagan publication that can guide me?
Anyway, I'm very new at all this - any assistance is much appreciated!
Lovely to meet you all.
Amber
